Fanboy at it's finest. The FUD in your post is hysterical at most. Everything you mentioned is literally false from start to finish. It's what you call the trolling spin.
Upset Transformers HD DVD doesn't play in your PS3?
no longer portable = pointless
Seriously now, how many of you are going to be regularly using this...
to Disney/Fox/etc to go proBD and Para/DW/Warner to leave HD DVD exclusivity by going neutral, having 10 times the players and STILL not being able to take the better format out?!
simple. not everyone wants a game console as their player of choice no matter how good it is.
embrace both. be a movie fanboy, not a format fanboy
he's your typical BD fanboy who goes on sony and bluray sites getting specs only audiophiles care about (which btw most of them can't even tell the difference between high quality compressed DD+ soundtrack and a lossless one)
be a movie and gaming fanboy, not a format or console fanboy
This is good news that the cost to the studio is now less but the players are still more expensive to the consumer and the spec still isn't completed. There are more but those were my top 3
you'll see he's not happy with Paramount in general. They mention his frustration with the lack of features in the SD DVD version as well. But this is business (and greed) at it's finest. If TF in HD DVD broke HDM records, one can only imagine if it were released on BD as well how many more discs would have sold. Thing is, it's the studio that funds the projects, not the directors and hence the film is owned by the studio. I think Bay has been talking to Speilberg too much. Another reason why...
I love HDM, especially HD DVD and all it offers. Can't wait to get the other movies when I go BD as well.
Embrace both and don't be a brand bot. Be a movie fanboy, not a brand fanboy
An in-game car has more betterer graphics than real life itself!
We know GT5 won't disappoint in the graphics department. All I care about is that they fixed everything else that was wrong with the GT series, as in bring online, damage, realistic physics, smart AI, and no bump n run racing and I'm sold.
I'm getting a PS3 for this game (and for BD) I really hope it lives up to the hype cuz GT3 and GT4 didn't. And this is coming from an a...
I'm neutral and am a fanboy of both movies and games, not formats and not consoles. Again, I'm a GAMING & MOVIE FANBOY, not a d*ckrider.
This was expected to be BD's week and I'll explain why, if you even care to listen. I was off by 2 pts in my prediction and favored BD. BD had more (and better) releases for that week (mind you it was last week, not this week). As much as 8:1 if you take out the Warner title. Here's what the releases were:
HD DVD:
Ev...
a few weeks ago when BD won 54:46 shows BD is always the winner when it has 10 times the players and that week better releases as well?
Embrace both.
These numbers are for LAST week, not this week. This was expected since BD had an 8:1 release week with HD DVD's only 'hope' in sales to be a comedy (Evan Almighty), something that in general doesn't sell too well for HDM. Don't look at weekly sales for how the formats are doing as the only number, look at overall.
I was off by my prediction by 2 points.
Thanks for trying though troll
when posters 1, 1.1 and 1.2 don't show up all because they have 1 bubble
BD wants region coding but not all studios make it so. If a disk were region coded then you can't play them on US BD players.
In europe and other regions in the world titles are released by other distributors, some in fact that support HD DVD and hence why you can get US BD exclusives imported under HD DVD.
People in the know have been doing this for awhile. I even mentioned it on here for quite some time...
Playing Underworld HD DVD import in a US HD DVD player = priceless
Another reason why region coding is not good for the consumer
Show me how HD DVD doesn't do HD audio...
Last I checked there are lossless tracks in HD DVD, and DD+ is in fact HD audio.
You must have super human hearing and a boat load of cash to afford the HT setup to tell the difference of lossless vs lossy too
you mean for the 5th time?
;)
EMBRACE BOTH!
And it wasn't working for them. Probably cost since ANOTHER line would have to be done... Basically retrofit a DVD line for HD DVD and add BD line somewhere off of it.
Note that this 'slew' of WB titles on BD are delayed titles that are already on HD DVD and titles like T3 for example was deemed to be delayed to pack in BD1.1 features. Alas, T3 won't have these 1.1 features so who knows why they were delayed in the first place.
I won't lie, I am very disappointed in the BDA and it's aggressive viral marketing tactics. That's not saying as a format, albeit unfinished and having it's own issues, I don't support it. I will, I am in the market for a PS3 and if I didn't buy 8 HD DVDs this week, some would have been BDs due to Circuit City's BOGO deal. I was VERY tempted too but there are just to many titles on HD DVD I decided to get first, you know... since I own an HD DVD stand alone player that can play them.
...
nasim, why are you talking about sales when the topic at hand is about CELL production?!?!?
You define troll the max. I won't even get into it and your made up 'facts'
Wait until Neilson's "official" numbers (which excludes amazon figures). Even so, any sales advantage is due to the BOGO where every buy one get one free counted as 2 disc sales regardless of the fact you were only paying for one. Strange some of you look at an installed base of 10 times more than HD DVD, literally giving discs away. There is a discrepancy since Para claimed they sold 190k units where as the article says 110k+ estimated.
How's that 800+million financi...
