There are titles that have the features in HD DVD in HD resolution just as there are titles on Blu-ray that are in SD.

Since we're hacking on red, know that the features on Transformers was all in HD

I like watching the extra features and how the film was made. Not on all movies but on those that I love and watch multiple times. I'm all about that, as many are. Obviously the main feature is the film itself. But since PQ and AQ on both are the same, what makes either format stand out from the other? The special features.

The masses haven't adopted yet. Most refuse to since they don't want to end with a betamax player. The fastest selling HD disk on both formats sold 190k according to the studio and 90k according to Nielsen's. When a side sells more than 500k units, then we can talk about the other side dieing if it doesn't have disks that match. Until then, it's a purple world.

360 is here to stay. PS3 is Blu-ray's stop gap to finalize the spec and ensure it doesn't go to sh*t and thusfar has b...

ABOUT F(_)CKING TIME!

So... again, why bother buying anything else other than the Sony PS3?

How else is BD not a Sony PS3 format?

Hot Fuzz is praised HEAVILY for how great it looks/sounds. The PQ is top notch on it. It's one of those films that the transfer to HD was done... just right. Matrix is great, but Hot Fuzz from beginning to end is just HD goodness all the way through. I know a lot of neutral owners who preach it as one of their top reference titles, as it rightful should be.

It was Blu-ray and PS3 fanboys preaching about how it had a lossy track and not lossless

This was also preached HEAVILY by those who don't have the ears nor equipment to even start talking about lossless vs lossy debate. You know, those PS3s that aren't attached via HDMI to an HDMI reciever capable of decoding and bitsreaming DTS-HS MA and TrueHD lossless tracks, for example...

TF - HD DVD sounds GREAT. Don't knock it till you try it.

but every time a Blu-ray is encoded with the VC-1 codec, Microsoft gets paid.

Likewise the same applies for HD DVD.

MS will also profit if both formats win and if both formats lose (via VOD / DLC)

Here's something you probably already knew.. Michael Bay ain't sh*t. He makes eye candy movies, not classics. He talks out his ass most of the time.

PQ and AQ.

PQ has been proven countless times to be the same.

AQ follows the same suit, but it depends on the studio and what they want to pack in.

Note for all you PS3 owners, how many of you are enjoying the lossless audio format with your golden ears and your PS3 connected to an HDMI reciever that is able to decode and bitstream lossless audio format to those top notch speakers?

Hello?! Anyone?!

Altered the sales ratio by 6 points. It also propelled a sales lack luster film into being #2, altering the top 10.

Think about this, what is THE #1 capable HD movie player on the market?
The PS3.

Removing Open Season from the sales still yield Blu-ray from winning the week (as expected)

HD DVD did the same with Heroes freebie with purchase of the HD DVD add on. Both sides are guilty for giving away freebies but the BDA has been trying to to...

1st off the title is wrong. It's not 'leads approx 73-27', it's 'won the week according to Nielson's'. Blu-ray does lead the software sales based on Nielson's. It's 2:1 ratio overall. Sometimes I wonder if Blu-ray.com's forum poster's motives is to go onto every message board, blog site, or forum and post constant FUD, buying 2-3 BD movies to get 2-3 for free and trying to prove that BD sold 4-6 total. I know why PS3 fans are so adamant about Bluray as a movie format... Because PS3 has yet to...

They just recently announced their 1 millions Blu-ray disk sale as shown. All of Europe = combined all of Blu-ray disks sold 1 million...

Think about it... Last stand alone figures put Spain to have a total of 174 units sold since inception until end of October. 174... in a year...

WAY too early to tell. HDM is still a niche format across the globe.

BOTH formats use the same video codecs producing the same PQ.

BOTH formats have studios that pump out high quality compressed audio like DD+ as well as lossy uncompressed audio.

BOTH do the same thing, red just does it cheaper.

being that it's sole purpose is a movie player. The PS3 though is a gaming console with added features like it doubling up as a media center and Blu-ray player. Problem with that is that majority of PS3 owners aren't buying BD films. If they were, the sales lead according to Nielson's data wouldn't be 2:1. It'd be a LOT larger than that.

The sad thing is how the PS3 is constantly being looked at as the only Blu-ray player from both consumer and business sides. I was at Blockbus...

PS3 is still at 1.0 profile. It is NOT 1.1 nor 2.0 profile.

It was stated that it will be 1.1 compliant, yet no word on 2.0 yet. Let's not spin more FUD now guys...

This whole profile upgrade by buying new hardware wasn't done on purpose and it probably the biggest achiles heal as I've said countless times. Blu-ray was rushed out to the market faster than HD DVD, but HD DVD made sure that their specs were finalized, meaning ALL players would be capable of everyth...
