If HD DVD has died 5 times by now as per the BDA!? ;)
'War' is long from over ladies. In fact, both formats can coexist and the current state with no evident winner or leader... They both need to in order to survive.
EMBRACE BOTH!
EDIT: to below
I'll make it as short as possible. Those who actually BUY HDM want whatever content in HD so hence majority are neutral and have embraced both. I am a movie lover not a format fanboy. Even though I am i...
Why do they drop the ball every time?
I'll rent it before I buy to see if it's great or not.
It's been praised in Japan
Me and my buddies have a blast with WiiSports boxing even though the controls in that aren't 100%. This one looks like a winner
1st the movie bombs, now the tagged on games bomb.
1st off I am console and format neutral. I weed out the BS and FUD, mostly by the bluboys and PS3 fanboys and see what the real truth is.
This is great news as it speaks volumes of the 'I think we made a decision too soon' and hope that others like Blockbuster follow.
Hopefully things will change for the better of the consumer. Both formats can strive and win together but BDA fears that as they need 100% market share in HDM.
EMBRACE BOTH! NEITHER...
why yes it was!
Meijer is an independent GROCERY store in the Midwest with overpriced catalog titles from the get go. They favored BD from the start with many stating that barely saw HD DVDs on their shelves. Who buys movies at a grocery story? I know I sure don't. But then again, I'm a smart shopper.
Why won't we mention about Australia's big electronics chain, JB HiFi, dropping BD exclusivity and going neutral? THAT is bigger news since they are into the consum...
you are ANNOYING! No one likes you on here. You spin the worst FUD of any fanboy I know. Sometimes I laugh at things you say, othertimes I can't believe a troll actually says things you say.
If you knew anything, you'ld know BDA was up to their sneaky ways by offering buy one get one free at Circuit City and $10 BDs on sale at Fry's to COUNTER Transformers week. Competition is good for the consumer, if the BDA wants to GIVE away BDs, by all means bring it. But what exactly does anythin...
YOU'RE MISSING OUT MAN!!!! The best parts of Forza aren't even in the demo! Put it this way, even though I was highly disappointed with GT4 I still loved the series. In my book, Forza sh*ts on GT (that's not saying that GT is bad, it's just light years ahead).
You can do so much but 1st off know that all cars in Forza are ones most use in racing, wether it be amateur or pro series like in SCCA. You won't find a Ford Model T or a Nike shoe car ;)
Here's just 3 things I ab...
cuz last I checked, the demo to the demo of GT5 wasn't even out yet.
Yet you say the physics and overall experience is still king?!?! Do you know how a car responds under racing conditions? Do you follow automotive racing or race cars yourself to know how an unreleased game feels like?
You know what nailed driving physics for a console racer? The 2nd rendition of Forza did. GT is on it's 5th if you don't count prologues and they are still working on it

Sour aren't we? Refer to my other post. In essence, I'll believe audio engineers with 20+ yrs of experience over any BDA exec or BD fan over whether lossless is needed or not. In short, 99% of people can't tell the difference between lossless audio tracks and those compressed with bit rates above 320kps. But you might be that 1% that has super human hearing and can tell the difference from a high quality compressed audio track and uncompressed one. How's your home theater setup? You do know i...
to: Makroyale. An HDMI reciever ISN'T the only thing you need. First off you need a good one that can pass the signal properly. You also need top notch speakers that have the proper frequency response (for one) just to play it properly. After you have all that, even a low end unit that can play lossless decently will net you $10,000. EVEN IF YOU HAVE THAT, the pros have already stated that 99% of people can't tell the difference in a blind test between lossless and high quality lossy (i.e. wh...
Who buys movies at Pathmark or ShopRite?
I'll tell you who...
Moms do.
They drag their spoiled kids out and when the kid sees a movie they like in blu-ray he goes ape nuts begging his mom to buy it cuz he read online that his PS3 can play it on his SD TV with no home theater and has to have it since he read online that BD is the ultimate king of kings and annoys his mom until she buys it.
This isn't news. This is some Sony fan exec m...
Not to bash GT series, I loved it since the first but was very disappointed with 3 and 4 seeming like the same thing just minor tweaks. The franchise was great but 3 I played less and 4 I played 2 weeks before it started collecting dust.
Forza 2 is a GREAT console racer and I'm sure GT5 will be as well but Polyphony has a HUGE hole to fill after FM2 and frankly graphics alone, no matter how jaw dropping, isn't going to cut it on it's own. For the record, I STILL play Forza 2.

as for the lossless argument, it's a null and void and a dead one. Does anyone here have an audiophile ear to hear the difference above 320kps bitrate? Does anyone here have a $30,000 home theater setup to even USE lossless?
Don't think so. To end it, 99.9% of people can't distinguish between a high quality compressed audio track like DD+ and lossless like PCM, DTS-MA, TrueHD
In other words, it's a useless pissing contest.
Enjoy that high end audio...
Last I checked, ALL the reviews of the HD DVD version gave it perfect scores in both picture and audio quality. From 5/5 to 10/10, and that's WITHOUT lossless audio, an audio format that is not needed.
Rip off is what Fox did by finally releasing movies that weren't playing on some Samsung and LG players, and the publicly thrashing the player manufacturers for not playing the disks.
But to be on topic, that does suck if it's not included.
What part of majority of people, as in more than 95% CAN'T tell the difference above 320kps?! 1.5mps DD+ is perfectly fine HD audio and has been rated by PROFESSIONALS to be 5/5 and 10/10 in Transformers for audio quality. I'ld listen to the pros any day of the week over some fanboy troll who tries to tell me the 'need' for lossless audio when they themselves can't tell the difference. Sure it's cool to have lossless but is it necessary? No, it's just a bragging point and pissing contest and ...
FACT: an unknown "exec" from elsewhere overheard a rumor on why no lossless, you guys bash it apart as if it's the ultimate truth.
FACT: 1.5mps DD+ > 900kps lossless.
FACT: 99% of people in blind tests can NOT tell the difference between any audio format above 320kps. Ask the pros, they'll easily tell you.
FACT: Transformers' audio format has been praised by PROFESSIONALS to be the best sounding track in HDM to date, giving scores of 1...
but i doubt it a ton!!
This is one of THE titles I'ld get a PS3 for (the others are MGS4 and GT5 and nothing and I mean NOTHING else appeals to me more than what's out on 360). I love Tekken!
Oh and for the rumble argument, last I checked PS3 hasn't gotten rumble yet. As in you can't go to a store and get a rumbled sixaxis controller. RUMBLE FTW
Last I checked Transformers for HD DVD had higher scores than Spiderman 3 as in 5/5 for both PQ and AQ, 8/10 for PQ and 10/10 for AQ, and 10/10 overalls on many places where Spidey 3 got under that at 4/5, 4.5/5, and 9/10 as you see here.
Let's look at the FACTS children and not read about specs you know NOTHING about.
The whole lossless argument... PROFESSIONALS will tell you 99% of the people can't tell the difference in audio above 320kps, sure DD+ isn't loss...
and without getting into full detail on it I care about MOVIES not about formats. The politics in HDM are all due to BD. Look at the history: HD DVD came out of an accepted format from the DVD forum, a forum everyone was (and still is) part of. But due to greed manufacturers and studios looked at what Sony and Pani had cooking by taking HD DVD's technology and pushing it out further to the surface which in terms boosted up the disc space. Only main reason why you initially saw everyone jumpin...
