OMG...
*droooooooooooool*
Wow.
That was both hilarious AND scary.
343 Guilty Spark. His charming, Rampant-AI eccentricities were interesting, for about five minutes. After that, he became a complete annoyance. Blasting him to bits at the end of Halo 3...ah, that was fun.
There's one good thing to come out of the RRoD debacle, and believe me, it's the ONLY good thing: This should force MS to make the next Xbox more reliable.
I hope.
This is, after all, the same company that gave us Windows ME.
Lesson learned, I pray.
Erin Go Bragh to a fellow Irishman! (I'm a couple of generations removed from the Emerald Isle, tho).
As people have discovered, VG is best for ballpark estimates, and is not completely accurate.
Good. This will force MS and Nintendo to be even more competitive.
That means more games, better services, and competitive pricing.
Good for gamers, and good for the industry. '08 is going to be CRAZY!
GREAT list! Loved Otogi (never should have sold it), and I still have the copy of Panzer Dragoon Orta I got at Best Buy for $9.99 on closeout.
Stranger's Wrath is STILL one of my favorite games for ANY console, and &%$#*@ it, it's not backwards-compatible yet!
Their list:
Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
Psychonauts
Jade Empire
Chronicles of Riddick
All first-rate titles.
In addition to that, both Halo and Fable can be had for $9.99 each. Since someone doubted me on those prices the other day, here's proof:
Metroid
Super Metroid
Legend of Zelda
And someone recently gave me a copy of Metroid Prime.
Samus rocks.
Up until a couple of years ago, that was me. I had an Xbox, PS1, Gamecube, Super NES, NES, and Sega Genesis all running to the same TV (using a HUGE A-V switcher, natch). Now I'm Wii60, though they're on two different TVs.
Just out of curiosity, why not?
Wii60, personally. I own both. But I don't begrudged those who own any or all three of the newer systems.
As always:
Gamers FTW.
Fanboys FTL.
Over, done with, ended...thank God. Toshiba is smart to pull the plug now, before their losses increase much more. Sony held onto Betamax for a long time, losing quite a bit of money in the process. Lesson learned, for both of them.
"Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it."
He's got a point...seems like this site is beating the subject to death. It's over, done with, ended, kaput...let's get back to actually talking about GAMES.
Who would be buying it? People who already own a player and will likely see some good clearance sales over the next few weeks.
Yes, the format will be dead, but it wasn't a BAD format...just one that ended up on the wrong end of studio and manufacturer support. Much like Betamax, which was actually better than VHS, but due to costs and support, ended up obsolete. But that didn't prevent people from still enjoying movies on it, as long as their players lasted.
Truthfully, I've considered a PS3 for the Blu-Ray aspect.
Problem is, I already own a 360 (with a LOAD of games; yeah, I'm one of those guys that keeps the 360's attach rate so high), and I just bought a Wii for the family. Two consoles is all I can (barely) afford.
If MS releases a BR peripheral for the 360 @ around $150-$200, that's a lot cheaper than a PS3 (even with its quickly declining prices). $200+ buys a lot of BR movies.
I'm not bashing the PS3...
Surprise, surprise.
