I have spiked controllers three times:
--Spyro the Dragon for PS1...it wasn't the game that was giving me difficulty, it was the cheap, 3rd party controller, one that had a bad left thumbstick. Funny thing was, after I spiked it, putting a small crack in the outside casing, it WORKED FLAWLESSLY. I am NOT kidding!
--Prince of Persia for Xbox. Kept losing my grip on a wall and falling to my death. After the tenth time of this happening, I spiked the controller. Cracked...
I LOVE this show--along with Galactica and South Park, it's my favorite--but I'm hesitant about this game. A couple more reviews like that and it's at least worth a rental.
Tabs ROCK.
This post brought to you by Mozilla Firefox...as have all of my posts everywhere for the past three years.
Two things MS needs to do soon:
Bring out a Blu-Ray add-on;
Offer some kind of recompense for those who bought the HD-DVD player; rather than a refund, it should be a significant credit towards the price of a BR add-on, along with a free movie.
Why not? Keep the BR drive under $200, and it will sell. I'd buy one.
I suddenly feel...inadequate.
WOW. Just...wow.
Not for a while...if at all.
Open Office
Mozilla Firefox (being used for this post)
Linux
All viable alternatives to various MS products.
BTW, I don't think the author of this article has any love for MS...call it a hunch. :)
In no particular order or console preference:
Gears 2
MGS4
GTAIV
SSB: Brawl
Fable 2
Killzone 2
Too Human
Resistance 2
SW: Force Unleashed
Ninja Gaiden 2
LittleBigPlanet (? Not sure how this one will do, but it looks promising)
Barbie Horse Adventures...c'mon, you KNOW you want it!
(Just kidding!)
BTW, since when i...
Yeah, the RRod is the most pervasive issue, but not the only one. For me personally, I've had four dead Pro consoles: One w/a bad HD, two consecutive RRoDs, and then my fourth system was just a mess: It never red-ringed on me, but it froze up, lost controller connections, scratched a disc, and had audio problems. (So far, so good for my Elite.)
Hell yes, it scares me. Having been through four consoles, I sometimes feel that I'm gambling each time I turn on my system. Luckily, like the author, I have a Best Buy replacement plan, so I've never had to wait for a repair. I just get a brand-new system each time.
I now have an Elite, and with Elites being in short supply right now, I'm afraid that if this one dies, I'll be without a system for weeks, until my Best Buy gets them back in stock. (That would probably give me grea...

This is why we have an Open Zone.
MS should realize that the attach rate was low primarily because people were wary of the format war, and didn't want to get stuck with the new Betamax (which, unfortunately, some did).
People buying PS3s may have had some of the same thoughts while the format war was raging, but also understood that if Blu-Ray failed as a movie format, it was still viable for games. So buying the PS3 primarily for movies was a less risky move than an optional HD add-on. "Worst case," y...
Imagine:
Portal.
On Wii.
With Wiimote controls.
Longer, less linear campaign
Better story
Better online play: Too often, Gears online would turn into trench warfare and stalemates.
Jump button, please
BRUMAK BATTLE!
I call my Halo-playing technique "Shaolin Kangaroo." Works pretty well.
Me too.
In fact, I only recently gave up Halo 2. (Lockout FTW!)
Keep the maps coming, Bungie, and the players will stay.
Cool.
Although Sony's lineup is still pretty tough to beat, this will help counter it.
This will definitely move some 360s.
Logitech KNOWS racing wheels...this will be a first-rate peripheral.
EA is the Wal-Mart of gaming. If this happens, kiss the 2K sports franchises goodbye. EA doesn't like superior competition:

I miss 2K football.
