If this is true:
Then it's better that Toshiba gives up the format sooner rather than later. Why let it linger? This way, it's better for Toshiba (quickly cutting its losses), consumers, retailers, and the industry in general.
Although I did not support either side in this format war, I am glad to see it finally coming to an end.
I think I got another Ignore out of this post. YES!
Who, outside of fanboys, friggin' cares?!?
Just play the game!
OMG...I loooove your avatar.
Wow...that was craptacular.
Well, look at this:

The largest electronics retailer in the US is sold out of Pro and Elite editions. Take that as you will.
What if Michael Bay spent as much time working on quality movie scripts as he did spouting off on movie formats...?
Still too high, if true...but certainly better than 33%.
The article's sample seems to come mostly from pre-Falcon models, so that number could (hopefully) improve with time.
It can't get any worse for me; I'm on my fifth console in less than 18 months. (And yes, I have the receipts to prove it).
LOL. That was genuinely funny. (And, hopefully, a thing of the past).
SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEEEET!
Bioware + RPGs = Excellence.
Nobody owns me. Period.
After four dead consoles and Windows ME, I have no love for MS. My point is that from a strictly business standpoint, denying MS access to Blu-Ray would be foolish...just as denying Sony access to Windows would be equally stupid.
Does Sony own your soul?
It's still probably worth a rental.
Admins, please fix this.
Agreed. If I pay to DL it, I should be allowed to keep it. That's my only real beef with MS and their digital distribution.
...And MS would charge 10X as much for Sony to have Windows for their Vaio computers. Not gonna happen either way.
Sony's just one part of the Blu-Ray consortium. If a company as big and influential as MS wants in on Blu-Ray, they'll get it.
Just give me one for my 360.
I hope they do it...that way, PS3 owners can enjoy PS2 classics like Ico, Socom, GT3 and GT4, Ratchet, GTA, Shadow of the Colossus, etc. I mean, imagine a 360 w/o the ability to play Halo 1 & 2, Jade Empire, Mechassault, Oddworld, GTA, PGR, Forza, etc.
Missing:
Master Chief and Cortana (how did they overlook that one?)
Sam and Max
Banjo-Kazooie
Toejam and Earl
$119.99 at my Best Buy, too. Look for a lot more clearance sales soon.
Now, it gets interesting.
Will MS be forced to cut the 360's price to spur sales?
Can Sony maintain their momentum?
Will the Wii shortages hurt Nintendo long-term?
Competition is good. It forces companies to innovate and work harder rather than resting on their laurels.
