*applause*
I love my 360, and I think it's the best overall system this gen (yes, I know some of you disagree...which you have a right to do).
BUT, quality control for the 360 has, quite frankly, been horrendous. I think part of the reason that MS has seen slower sales of late has been due to people hesitating to purchase it, based on what they've heard about its spotty reliability record.
This is what they've needed to do for a while now: Acknowl...
Not surprising at all. The 360 has had an uphill struggle in Japan, and with some first-rate titles coming out, this may be their best attempt at winning market share: Make those new games more attractive by offering the system at a cheaper price.
Could this be a prelude to a North American/worldwide price drop?
Good one, Moondust. Methinks someone might also be a wee bit...jealous?
It's the Nicole Richie commemorative PS2! Now even slimmer!
:)
Wow.
Forza's got some competition.
Their predictions are a mix of humor and actual speculation, so people shouldn't get too worked up over it.
BTW, multiple websites (including this one, I believe) are reporting that E3 will be smaller this year, but also an unorganized mess. So, we may get earth-shaking announcements...assuming that Reggie, Phil and co. can even find their way to the convention. :)
Well, at least PS3 players will still get to play it...just much later than expected.
I'm noticing constant delays for PS3 games, especially multi-system games. That's gotta be frustrating for PS3 owners.
I've heard all the standard reasons for the constant delays--devs not understanding the Cell, not willing to design it from scratch for the PS3, finding the 360 architecture easier to use, bad ports, etc.--but the fact is, it keeps happening, and the delays are...
Well, Prey wasn't bad, but it wasn't great, either. From what a friend has told me, The Darkness is a better-than-average shooter with some decent supernatural elements...which pretty much sums up Prey, as well.
OK, let's have some opinions from someone on this board who has played both: Do you see some similarities?
My friend has said that once he's done with the game, he'll either loan it to me, or sell it to me for $20. Should I try it, or pass?
My favorite:
2. Kick their ass repeatedly and talk even more trash.
Unfortunately, that's all they understand. Same with Halo 2...and, I'm sure, Halo 3. However, there's nothing like a chainsaw or a grenade stick to shut them up. Pwnage is its own language.
Another one I liked:
9. Use words with more than 2 syllables.
Erudite monosyllabic expressions exceed their capacity for comprehension.
Also, remi...
And here I thought that nothing could be worse than Bomberman: Act Zero.
Wow. Takes an especially bad game to rank that low.
A few seconds? People are getting worked up over a few seconds? Folks, as I've said before, those load times have NOTHING on a Commodore 64 or an Apple IIE. (Now THOSE were load times!)
Seriously, how did this story get approved?
I'm actually going to defend Sony...sort of.
Yes, their PR and corporate spin are becoming monotonous and repetitive. How often do they have to say, "Please be patient...the games are coming."
But make no mistake--the games are coming. They have many quality games in the pipe, and some good exclusives. By the end of the year, they'll have a decent lineup to justify the system's high price. And maybe, a price cut to further aid sales. (Of course, MS ha...
Based on what I've seen as a retailer, from what my friends and people on my friends list have told me, and from what I've found on forums, that number sounds about right.
One site once claimed a failure rate of nearly 70%.
MS claims it's around 7-8%.
One-third seems to confirm what I--and others--have seen and heard.
Continued denial by MS is only complicating things, though one can hope that the 65nm chips due later this year will...
Hmmm...lost a bubble. Big surprise.
I can counter that claim pretty easily:
My first two died while being plugged DIRECTLY INTO THE WALL.
My third has lasted longer than the first two...oh, and it's PLUGGED INTO A SURGE PROTECTOR.
Didn't we hear from MS at one point that NOT plugging it into a surge protector was "part of the problem?"
(I could be mistaken, but I seem to recall hearing that at some point.)
Fix the d@mn problem, MS. Stop jerkin...
This is a TEMPORARY solution. It's like putting a Band-Aid on cancer.
The best solution: FIX THE DAMN PROBLEM, MS!
(This from a 360 fan who's on his third console since October)
I have Netflix. Works great for me, and I get between 15-20 DVDs per month for my $15.00 (got a price break through work). Blockbuster's online library has a good array of titles, but their in-store selection is so wretched that I wouldn't have anything to trade my online rentals for...unless I want the Current Over-hyped New Release, which is all they seem to carry in store.
Now, if only Netflix would start doing game rentals...
If they want to compete with Live, they'll need demos. It's only fair to be able to try before you buy.
Hell hath no fury like a fanboy scorned.
I'm just wondering what they're disagreeing with. The fact that I'm secure enough (and mature enough) to be willing to play a game on a competing system?
For the record, the same friend with the PS3 wants me to show him how to play Gears. And later, Halo 3.
And, we're both thrilled that DMC4 is coming to both of our systems.
What's wrong with that?
To be followed quickly by a 360 price cut, no doubt.
Let's see:
Many, many quality games coming this fall to all three systems.
Price cuts likely on two of them.
Lots of great new features (HOME, IPTV, etc.)
GOD, ITS GOOD TO BE A GAMER RIGHT NOW!!!!!!
