Public trust in the 360 has been shaken--there's little doubt about that.
Two things that will fix that and give people a reason to buy the system again:
Games: Look at this fall's lineup for the 360. It's jaw-droppingly good. I see BioShock and Mass Effect moving some systems, and of course Madden always does. Then, of course, there's Halo 3, which I think will sell a few copies, at least... :) And that's just the tip of the iceberg.
New warranty...
PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAASSS SSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEE make this happen!
My sympathies. Makes my three dead units (in less than a year) seem minor in comparison.
Get your s#it together, MS. You've got great games, a first-rate online service, and plenty of potential--you just need a system that won't break over and over again while providing an otherwise fantastic experience.
Falcon can't get here soon enough.
Wow...I'd hit...I mean, buy that. She can play with my Wii anytime!!!
COULDN'T RESIST!
Took me forever to lose that weight and clear my skin, and the sight of Cartman spewing crap into a bowl will forever haunt me. But we pwned that jerk.
It is interesting to note that before the billion-dollar repair deduction, their gaming division was actually pretty close to profitability. With the repair costs deferred to last quarter, and with a massive lineup of games this fall, plus a decrease in production costs, expect the forecast of a profit in FY 08 to come to pass.
That's the good news.
The bad news is the loss of public trust and goodwill generated by failing consoles. Winning that back will be ha...
Don't know. Haven't heard a release date...or is it a gradual roll-out, once the backlog of existing systems are exhausted?
Anybody know?
Nice rig.
Sorry, but I gotta be mildly fanboyish for a second...
So tell me, are you enjoying Genji, or Gundam, or Untold Legends on your PS3...you know, those three high-quality, AAA titles that have sold millions?
Don't use two games as examples of what the 360 has to offer. EVERY console has bad games, and this gen has seen its share: The above titles for PS3, Bomberman: Act Zero and Hour of Victory for the 360, and the multiple movie-based titles and bad ports for the ...
My friends and I love Chinpokomon...except for Kyle, who just doesn't get it. I don't know how Kenny affords it.
I've only played three of these:
AvP was a cast-iron b!tch to play, Final Doom almost as hard, and Far Cry tried my patience constantly. Still have my copy of Final Doom...maybe it's time to break it out again...and maybe break my controller. ;)
So the Elite has HDMI, and now so does this edition, which is basically a souped-up Pro...so maybe, the Falcon model will have HDMI as a standard input? That would ROCK. Fix the system's design flaw AND add HDMI...Cooler chips, new heatsinks, and HDMI...sweet.
So after Blazing Angels (decent) and Over G Fighters (so-so) we finally get a AAA flight game? Sweeeeeet. Nice job, Namco.
I may actually buy this one, and I usually don't like flight games...in fact, the last 2 flight/combat games I bought were Hellbender and Descent, if that gives you an idea of how long it has been.
So, MS, how about a 360/Windows compatible flight joystick...and for that matter, what about bringing Flight Simulator to the 360?
Halo overstretched?
Zelda still sells.
Mario still sells.
Metroid still sells.
Madden still sells
FF still sells.
Tony Hawk still sells.
Lara Croft still sells.
Hell, even Sonic still sells (some).
I think Bungie and MS have a loooooooong way to go to match the saturation that the above titles have in the marketplace. (Not knocking them, especially since som...
I've seen those dreaded lights three times now (4th system since October), but what's REALLY funny is the fact that most of my friends have launch systems, and NONE of them have had any issues. In fact, of the 15 people on my friends list, I'm the only one who's had a defective console.
Go figure, huh? Maybe I'm the victim of some Gypsy curse or bad hex...instead of the Evil Eye, I get the Red Ring. (Hey, as long as it's not a red ring somewhere on my body...)
Not too concerned about the details...as long as they fix the problems. Falcon can't get here soon enough.
BTW, what's with the Elite shortage? Between my store, the local Circuit City, Gamestop, and Target, no one has any, or has had any for a while.
Is the Elite getting the first Falcon upgrade, before the Pro?
I understand that the logistics of the situation are preventing Bungie from making this happen...I think the BSPolice offered the best explanation for why and how...but damn, if this isn't disappointing.
If they can patch it with a future update, that would be great. But it's still disappointing that it's not likely to be there at launch.
Don't think this will prevent it from selling millions of copies, tho.
Interesting point there...hadn't thought of that.
Agreed. Good point.
I'm on my 4th 360 since October 2006, and I have the receipts to prove it. (Thank God for replacement plans). I would like to mail a photocopy of my receipts to MS and inform them of the hassle that I've been put through. I love the 360 experience--when it works.
So does anyone know who/where I should send a letter so that it gets the proper attention?
