DOA games that have suggestive covers? Well, that's a given.
But a game with scantily-clad women titled "Slave Pageant?!?" Wow. That's BEGGING for a feminist protest.
WOW.
WOW.
WOW.
WOW.
WOW.
Short-term, I think Blu-Ray "wins." By that, I mean it gets the most market share. That's a definite setback for those who already invested in HD-DVD players/drives. Worst case, they have to buy a combo player down the road to play their HD-DVDs.
Best case for HD-DVD at this point--and this is based on the short-term numbers of one-year post-launch--is a compromise. Combo players may give them longer-term market viability. This might be the best for the consumer, as t...
So I guess I'd better actually PLAY the game I dropped sixty bones on.
As for the video...well, that's just pathetic.
"Sticky balls." *Snicker snicker*
Sorry. I had to let my inner 12-year-old out for a while.
Nearly every one of these titles was a flop, so they got what they deserved for having wretched names. I mean, would you even rent--let alone buy--something called "Irritating Stick?"
I've played all of these except the Lion King, and they're all quality titles. However, what about Spider-Man 2? Two Towers and Return of the King? Super Star Wars/Empire/Return of the Jedi? Those merit mentioning, as well.
...most of them pretty valid. He definitely likes the PSP, and he does a good job of highlighting the positive aspects of the much-maligned handheld. However, I can offer 4 good reasons not to own one, or at least wait for the PSP Slim:
1. Lack of quality games, and too many lousy ports;
2. No internal memory;
3. Needs a second thumbstick;
4. Lack of downloadable games
I'm not saying one SHOULDN'T buy a PSP. It's just ...
It's funny...
This game went from "Halo 3 beta featuring Crackdown" to being a pretty decent game that proved to be better than anyone expected.
Pretty simple, really:
Average Jane and Joe usually don't look at framerates or GPUs when selecting a system for their kids. They look at 2 things:
Price point;
-and-
Family-friendly games.
The Wii has both, and that's why it's outselling everyone else, even with its "inferior" hardware.
A 360 price cut would bring it closer to that magical $199 price point that seems to be the sweet spot for...
Not guilty of any of those...but I've seen more than a few of those things from friends/acquaintances while playing.
Two possibilities:
He's bitter over his firing;
-or-
He's telling the truth, and Sony is facing a rough road ahead.
Change is good.
Halo is one of the few franchises (Zelda, GTA, Mario, etc.) that has earned its hype quotient. Enjoy the ride.
N4G should also post the HD-DVD releases for the week. Blu-Ray may be leading, but HD is far from dead. (Solid sales of the Matrix Trilogy, for example).
The upcoming HD slate is pretty good--but so is the Blu-Ray schedule.
A couple of mitigating factors:
Some of those high-rated 360 games are downloads from Live, not on-the-shelf titles. Playstation Network hasn't yet matched the quality of Live, but it's still in its infancy.
360 still has the advantage of a one-year head start. Give the PS3 another year and I suspect it'll have a better lineup of high-rated titles. Of course, by then the 360 will have even more highly rated titles, but I think there will be a better balance.

Until we get an official announcement either way, "speculation" is all we've got. Apparently, that's enough to raise the ire of numerous fanboys.
Calm down, folks. If it happens, it happens. No need to flame each other over speculative information.
Define "hardcore." Number of posts, or content?
P.S. Thanks for the bubble. I had seven for a few days...don't know how I lost one.
Quality foreign films.
More TV content...think Heroes, Lost, Galactica, etc.
Maybe more music...indie, especially. Most mainstream sucks.
New release feature films, especially in HD.
Better-quality dramas (Flags of our Fathers, etc.)
Greater array of sci-fi. Definitely a market with gamers for that.
Don't think romantic comedies would go over with most male gamers, but when the girlfriend comes over.....
Decent job. Looks pretty good.
...if there is no 360 price cut before Christmas. Seriously.
Couple that with the release of Halo 3 (not to mention Mass Effect, BioShock, Assassin's Creed, Army of Two, GTA IV, and many, many more) and you've got a recipe for major market gains this Christmas. MS would be stupid not to cut the price.
