Perfect for DS. Touch controls, a sandbox mode...I think this will find an audience on the DS that it sadly lacked on the 360. It's a better game than most people think.
Core @ $249 + in-pack memory card = direct competition for the Wii.
I know I keep mentioning that in posts, but I really think it will happen. Now, will it sell...?
Falcon coming soon, with enhancements?
Looks like it from this anecdotal evidence:
360 shipments to my local Best Buy, GameStop, Target, and Circuit City stores have slowed, with smaller allocations being shipped.
Core now listed as "deleted" at Best Buy, indicating that SKU--but not necessarily that model--is done.
At least 2 scans of forthcoming ads indicating a $50-$80 price cut on all 360 models.

...and naked women. Fanboys wouldn't know what to do with any of those.
Nobody should get worked up over this. It's three WEEKS, not three MONTHS or longer. Delays happen to every system.
The marketing blitz begins. Halo has reached a Mario-level of recognition...even my non-gaming friends know what it is.
BTW, no need to market it with Mountain Dew...gamers already know what fuels their marathon gaming sessions. Partner it with Red Bull, too. I foresee many sleepless nights...
Good one!
However, there are some things I wouldn't want to seen in a porno in HD...
As I've said a hundred times (now a hundred and one, LOL), Sony is one of the few companies that could weather losses like those experienced by their games division and still survive and recover. The games division can continue to lose money if needed, and the rest of their divisions will make it up. (MS is another company that can afford to lose billions from one division and basically shrug it off).
The current Core SKU will be gone, but the Core will live on...with a memory card in-pack, at $249. Perfect way to compete with the Wii, especially for casual gamers who only want 360 games, and aren't worried about backwards-compatibility or Xbox Live.
GIVE ME A TIME MACHINE!!!!
The next three weeks will be AGONY!
Can't wait!
A couple of weeks ago I asked 2 friends--one a PS3 owner, the other with a Wii--how much they had spent on their systems to date, versus how much I spent on my 360.
I've spent more than $800 in games, controllers, Live points, and other accessories for the 360.
My friend with the PS3 has spent about $500 on his system.
My friend with the Wii has spent less than $400.
For perspective, I got my 360 in October, and my friends both got t...
God forbid.
Microtransactions SUCK. Enough already.
This is true: It's listed as deleted, and is listed as "at-risk," meaning it needs to be sold through within 90 days.
But I don't think this is the death of the Core.
Rather, this is like the 60GB PS3: It's being clearenced out for a newer SKU:
A Core with a memory card in-pack, and a $249 price tag, and (MAYBE) HDMI.
What proof do I have?
None, except some unofficial word from a MS rep: Whan asked about t...
Some good, some meh. Still waiting (somewhat patiently) for Marathon: Durandal.
Which one offers the best GAMING deal? That's what consumers want. Everything else is gravy.
On the rumored price cut:
Seems that Toys R Us also has a price drop on the 360 in an upcoming ad:

Looks like it's going to happen.
"Changed to rumor as the EGM September issue is not out yet."
Given the fact that I've heard nothing but positive things about these two games from multiple sources, and assuming this story turns out to be true, I think that someone needs to find a new reviewer.
Someone dropped the ball here.
Good point. I noticed a recent drop-off in 360 shipments to my store; we seem to sell out more often due to fewer consoles on hand.
Anyone have independent proof of this happening?
That would explain the lower failure rate I've been hearing about for the Elite.
