barely right...
"According to another study conducted by the Entertainment Software Association in 2009, 40% of the game playing population is female [...] The same study shows that 48% of game purchasers are female"

9.8 for Mass Effect 2. A good game to be sure, but near perfect? Please! Real Racing HD?! And yet they're happy to come down hard on games like Dynasty Warriors, why? Because they just don't like it?
I give up... NowGamer is just too mediocre a "gaming" website to care about any more. I've read school papers with more integrity. This site's a fraternity of bores.
That's not begging the question:
"Writers who say 'begs the question' out of context are morons because they were dropped on their heads as children" is begging the question.
But I already have it ;_;
Gee, a whole £3 off a game released nearly 3 years ago.
I actually love the special offers PSN offer every 2 weeks, but when they don't even try, I fail to find any cheer.
I suppose we'll be getting further slim pickings every two weeks to encourage us to go for PSN+... I'm just waiting for a month that gives me something I actually want!
Way of the Samurai 3 got 16% and Dynasty Warriors Strike force got 37% from these morons?
I'll admit they're not everybody's cup of tea, nor are they perfect (I would give them 60% and 65% respectively), but god damn a reviewer is meant to be impartial, not "I don't like these kinds of games, so I'm going to mark them ridiculously low".
I wish we could review NowGamer aricles it would be dire: they're some of the worst to get...
What is your point?
Sub-HU games on the PS3 are often multi platform games: GTAIV, Red Dead Redemption, Ghostbusters, and the 360 has it's share of these too (from http://www.gamezine.co.uk/n... Call of Duty 3, Call of Duty 4, Conan, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Fifa 2006, Fifa 2007, Ninja Gaiden 2, Project Gotha...
A missed opportunity for Kinetic!
You should never be put off by a score of less than 90%.
In my experience I've had more game-time and fun with games that averaged 60-80%!
Or "When thousands of balls attack!"
We've had the ability to do similar things in real-time for quite while. The reason we don't have it in games is that there are often no real-world uses for it.
Dynamic waves look nice, but will it be worth bumping up the minimum specification on a game, when some pre-animated waves will work just as well? Sand being displaced in real-time looks kick ass, but who's going to care or notice when you'...
Other than that they both look damn near identical!
If you missed out on the first one, you should definitely play this game, on any platform!
Though fans are neither critical, or guaranteed to buy the game in the first place.
Absolutely not!
Fans know dick all, and are too self-centred. For every time a success story is made through listening to the fans, I guarantee there's a hundred fail stories to go along with it.
Game Designers should listen to their team, and go by their gut.
However I thought this was hilarious:
"Gears of War 2 had much improved graphics from the original." Demonstrating in an image how much improved it was: From Greys to Browns!
If you checked out the actual US updates you'd see they were mainly just free avatars and themes, but then you seem like the kind of person that's fooled by weekly updates.
In fact the EU gets more actual content (whereas the US gets more discounted items). Make of that what you will, but the exclusion of Qore from the EU package is no great loss to me - I prefer playing games rather than watch somebody else do it.
But you still get the same content, and if US and EU had the same content the US would be bitching they only get a 1/4 each month.
Sure it's something to look forward to, but if you get it all at once, what difference does it make. You should look forward to next month's :D
I think in the US they get PSN+ stuff released every week, whereas in the EU we get everything from the first of the month. I certainly prefer the EU's approach.
However it would be nice to get a subscription to Firstplay included.
I'm waiting for it to drop to around £10, too :) I'd love to support an AVP game, but SEGA are (along with Activision) on my list of publishers to buy late and buy cheap, because of their attitudes.
because nobody knows how hard indie developers have it more than corporate dog's bodies!!
What's your point?
Everybody wants a game with some depth from time to time, the same way everybody wants to just sit back and shoot somebody else as simply and a bloodily as possible.
I'm sure Einstein would have appreciated both had he the chance.
