@BlackKnight
You seem to confuse what you can do, and what the software rights holder can do to you.
You are free to modify any software, but be prepared for legal action if you are caught, and it isn't in the company's best interests.
He then went on to say that the sky is blue, that it takes two to tango.
We own the console, we license the software.
It is no different to owning a PC. Unless the software license agrees to it (as with GNU or other open source projects), you are not allowed to modify the software.
There are Terms and Conditions you agree to by using the console.
If you don't agree, you are free to return the console and receive a full refund.

"I should go return the milk carton to the shop? "
Certainly not, you are entitled to return it to the shop.
You can do what you like with it. If you are caught using it milkshake, you cannot cry about it later because you were given every opportunity...
Money is not tangible.
There are very few bins of money around into which Scrooge McDuck can dive.
This is why the housing market colapsed - when you're dealing in millions, it doesn't make any sense for the money to actually exist.
Only the little people like us see tangible money, and even then it reads (on UK notes) "The Bank of England promises £XX to the barer". Even if you got coins. What are coins but copper, zin...
I wonder what Braben would have done if somebody had told him he was not allowed to hack away at that that BBC Micro so he could create Elite? Now I'm not saying the two cases are remotely comparable, but the industry is really blowing this out of proportion.
Do you know why tampering with a car is bad? Because it costs significantly more than a game. Braben, I'll remind you, thinks there should be some regulation of 2nd hand games, though this is lacking in car deale...
Any game can get to a native 720p if they cut enough features.
"HD" is the biggest con this generation. Half the games that run SD look better than some HD games.
Sub HD when measured through Youtube's 720p stream.
So you know the results are infallible :|

"Rigid security protocols about information leaks!"
They cant be that rigid if they let people get near with camera phones.
Brilliant! Do you have any more blurry shots of monitors 20
feet away? or do you think we should all just grow up and accept media when the publishers give us some?
The Cradle level, whilst brilliant, had nothing to do with thief gameplay.
If you want scary gameplay, Thief should not be your first choice.
Please just base it on Thief 2, and not Thief 3.
Please Square Enix.
It's a bow. You don't have to hold a bow perpendicular to the floor, especially short bows.
Not sure what your point is.
GT5 Prologue has a score of 80%
GT4 has a score of 89%
The series hasn't had a 90%+ average since GT3 - which most people considered a glorified Demo thanks to less cars and tracks than any other GT game to that point, but it still sold more than any other GT.
Perhaps GT fans should just learn to appreciate what they got? They obviously still love the series otherwise the sales would be lot less.
1) Release GT5 after so long
2) Critics are upset they've been waiting all this time for the best car simulation ever, but it has nothing else to offer.
3) It sells 6 million copies
4) Critics say it's not enough
What the fuck. Why can't we just enjoy games, you know, like we used to?
I like Buzz.
But it should have been a one off buy for the game and buzzers, then a steady stream of question packs in online DLC.
I think they just released Buzz on PS3 and expected everybody to be happy with exatly the same thing we had on PS2.
Even Singstar had to evolve (actual music videos in the backgrounds, singstore, more artists, different singing modes) for PS3 for people to justify the "upgrade".
I loved this about inFAMOUS. It really brings you into the world of a superhero when you have to chose between the life of one person, or the lives of the many.
Still gives me chills to think of of the screams when I didn't help.
W.T.F.
I mean sure, make a spanking game, or a stripping game, but don't use Mii characters or some magical Aladdin inspired flying game.
I've been on the internet for decades, and not a lot shocks me, but the juxtaposition was kinda unsettling to me.
Now is this a true 7 out of a 10 (i.e. a good game)? or a 7 on the 7-10 scale (a bad game that's been hyped).
Personally I didn't think the demo was amazing, but I'd certainly play the rest of the game.
