They aren't talking about these remakes. They are talking about games from long before these. Going all the way back to Ghosts and Goblins.

They were making horror style games since the beginning. Not sure why you are acting like these recent remakes should have anything to do with how they becam3 synonymous with the horror genre. That happened a long time ago.

I'm torn of RE1. Only because I absolutely love RE1 Remake, and it still holds up very nicely and somehow still looks beautiful.

But at the same time, I'm with you too. I would like to play RE1 with the new engine. So, I guess I'm okay either way?

"Sony is clearly having some problems with their messaging regarding the PS5. I mean, WTF is holding Sony back to the point where they can´t even bother to show us the damn box?"

You do realize we know more about the PS5 right now then we knew about the PS4 in April of 2013, right?

In February of 2013, Sony announced the PS4 would be released during the holiday season of 2013. They only gave us bare bones details about it then

Did you really just say Resident Evil isn't a horror franchise? Horror is in the name of the genre. Survival HORROR.

Having great moments of action doesn't mean it isn't horror. The whole point of the franchise, originally, was being a completely under-powered character, outnumbered, with little ammo and resources. It makes you choose between whether you are able to stand and fight, or run away.

It absolutely, 100% is a franchise. It may not ...

RE4 didn't have tank controls.....

It was over the shoulder 3rd person.

If its an "outlier review" then how is the average at 80?

Thank you. I thought I remembered that also. I even replied to someone up above with this.

They were working on RE3 Remake at the same time as RE2 Remake. So I really don't see how this was rushed. More like they just made some poor decisions.

Well, I don't see how it was rushed. They were working on it at the same time as RE2 Remake. In fact, the original plan was to release them both at the same time, if I'm not mistaken

So I don't think it was rushed. I think it was just a series of bad decisions.

At this point, pretty much every large company has had at least one person infected with Covid.

I don't think this needs to be reported every single time.

2264d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

He didn't use Covid-19 as an excuse. He was simply saying that on top of dealing with Covid, now they have this to worry about also.

Seriously, what is wrong with you? Do you have absolutely zero reading comprehension skills?

uh....Ridley Scott's Alien was a sci-fi horror movie. No real weapons, certainly not any guns. Only one enemy that hid in the shadows and killed people one-by-one.

How is that anything like the adrenaline fueled, action oriented game with tons of weapons and hordes of enemies?

The PC AvP games were incredible.

Don't say that! There are plenty of ways to ruin an X-Com style strategy game. Mostly from trying to do something different with the X-Com game play formula and making bad decisions that just don't work.

I really want this to be good. I'm just saying, don't take for granted that this kind of game can't be ruined. Because it certainly can.

That game Phoenix Point is a perfect example. They had a lot of cool ideas in it that expanded on...

Agreed. When you look at games like Assassin's Creed, the game isn't even the same thing it used to be.

Or even Gears of War. The trilogy ended the story pretty perfectly. But they wanted that money, so they squeezed more out of it, fighting the same enemies.

At least with something like Halo, the trilogy ended on a perfect note with the defeat of the Covenant. But that series had also built in lore around another potential threat. So it made se...

@Ziggurcat

Your logic is truly mind boggling. Again, you just said yourself, Game isn't contributing to the spread ANY MORE THAN A GROCERY STORE.

The difference is grocery stores are essential. People NEED to go there for food and supplies.

Video game stores are not essential.

So why have more available places where people can spread the virus? The more places you have, open the more likely it is to spread. Per...

FPS can be survival horror too. Just look at Resident Evil 7. That game was far more survival horror that Resident Evil 4, 5, and 6 combined.

Having said that, I agree with you 100% Doom 3 was not survival horror. You weren't completely underpowered and having to make constant decisions between whether to stand and fight or run away. You didn't have limited resources of ammo and health.

It was just a slightly more "realistic" feeling ga...

@Ziggurcat
What are you talking about, "its not going to spread because someone went to a store"?

How else is it going to spread, if not by people gathering in the same place, like a store?

I understand that there's no higher chance of getting it in a video game store or a grocery store. But why add more locations for people to gather and spread it? If you limit the amount of open stores to ONLY essential things, like grocery stores...

Its not about "being better". Its about stopping the spread of a virus that is killing thousands of people worldwide everyday.

Keeping non-essential stores open during this is literally a direct cause of death for some people, because all of these stores and the people going to them are helping to spread this virus.

Again, no one is better than the next person. No one is even saying that. But some jobs allow for working from home. Some don't...
