"Some of those people are the hardest working in the world. While many other sit in easy chairs, go to meetings and make mostly stupid decisions many of those people work their butts off to make money. They should not suffer because they are in a low skill job."

You're right about that. They shouldn't suffer. But thats where its the responsibility of the company to do the right thing and take care of their employees.

Really? Because its only March. We know all the specs.

With PS4 they didn't show the actual console or its specs until E3, jist a few months before lainch. So why is everyone freaking out? At this point, with the PS4 all we knew is it would release later in the year for the holidays.

You don't have to be a store manager, or even an employee to know Gamestop is on their last legs.

You can go to subreddit r/Gamestop on Reddit, or watch Gamestop Chronicles on YouTube. Basically, Gamestop already wasn't even sure if they would be able to make it to the new console launches. The only thing they are making any profit on are Tech Trades. So this could, quite literally, be the nail in the coffin for Gamestop.

Its a shame too. I certa...

Uh......I think you missed an important part of this story.

They are closing due to the Coronavirus. The state is forcing them to close until some time in April. They don't need damage control from Reggie Fils-Aime for that lol.

Its news because Gamestop has been claiming that they will continue to stay open, even if the state tries to force them to close.

They have been making the case that they are an "essential" business during these times and that they will fight to stay open.

So, given that, it is news that they actually started closing down.

Yeah. You could easily run around Mr X and go to a safe room, then just wait until you didn't hear his footsteps anymore. Or at least until they were quiet enough to go back out and take a different direction.

Like you said, it was just an annoyance that made you leave the area you were trying to go through, then come back.

They are on their last legs. This is why they are trying to stay open as long as possible

Before Corona, they weren't even positive they would be able to make it to the new console launches, which is their goal since they always make good money when new consoles launch.

But if they are forced to shut down, they will be in absolute dire straights and probably won't make it to console launches.

And right now, with people in quara...

I've never been overly concerned with BC. Its definitely nice to have. But I'm more concerned with Sony making sure their menus work without lag. I'm more concerned that when I click on the Store icon it doesn't sit there loading for a minute or two. I'm more concerned that if I click on a game in the Store it doesn't sit on a loading screen for 3 minutes, only to fail to load altogether.

Really? You mentioned it will be the first one you've bought since Doom 3. Did you at least play Doom 2016? Because its fantastic. And if not, you can get it for super cheap.

Most games with multiple endings actually have one particular ending that is canon. When a sequel comes around.

So if they wanted to do another Witcher where you play as Ciri then they can just say the ending where she died didn't happen.

Because the Final Fantasy series was done as turn based to mimic popular table top games like Dungeons and Dragons. Despite the misconception that Final Fantasy only used turn based because the technology wasn't there

They didn't start using more action oriented combat until FF12 I believe. And that was likely because they wanted to evolve the combat systems they had been using for so long. Not because the technology finally caught up. ...

FF7 Remake isn't their "tru vision" from back then. They made their "tru vision" when they made the original FF7.

This is just an update of that vision now that technology is so much better.

Lariat. Yes it does. If these are the only games listed its kind of an embarrassment. Unless you like Just Cause 4 or NBA 2k

I'm with you and Larian. I would have been fine with the "real time turn based" game play of the previous Baldur's Gate and Iceland Dale games. But lets be honest, who played those games without using the pause button in every single battle to issue orders to your party? Those games might as well have been full on turn based where the game automatically pauses for each character and enemy to take a turn. They would have been completely impossible without the pause button. ...

Yeah. Some people claim Doom 3 is its own continuity, and I tend to agree with that, only because its so different than the other games and it doesn't really fit in after Doom64, or even before it.

The only thing about Doom 3 is that Quake Arena (I think is the name?) has the "Doom Marine" in it as a playable character. Doom Marine is what he was called in Doom 3. But his biography in that game ties him to the original games too.

But I see t...

I understand that. I've played both Divinity Original Sins games and loved them. But......even those had higher level caps than 10.

Its already been all but confirmed that Doom 2016 picked up where Doom64 left off. Which also means that the Doom Slayer in Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal is the same Doom Guy from the original games.

I mean, Doom 2016 started out with you waking up in a stone coffin with demonic symbols all over it and they explain that they pulled it out of Hell. It seems a little too on the nose for him to not be the same guy. And I don't think its any coincidence that they are re-relea...

But, they are bleeding money though. They are closing stores worldwide. They literally just closed a ton of stores in America this month, or at least announced the closures. They are finding reasons to get rid of store leaders and district managers, then promoting people up into those positions for less pay than the people they fired. Its been said the only real profits they are pulling is on their tech trades right now and that they are just trying to survive long enough to make it to the ne...

In the table top game, yes. Where it takes time just to fight a single enemy, with players taking turns rolling dice just to see if you land a hit, miss, defend, make a saving throw, etc.

But that doesn't translate to a video game where it takes significantly less time to do things. Where are all the dice rolls are happening behind the scenes, off-screen, instantaneously. There's a reason why I can't think of a single D&D video game that capped at level 10....
