Frozen Synapse - An indie developer getting some love from Edge.
@dark-hollow
I'm sure if you looked at the average third part software sales you might say otherwise.
I've only just played this as well. Great game but now that I've completed it I don't think I'll go back. Not that I mind, for £8 it's a bargain.
@ Meerkat
Your analogy would make sense if it were the case that bad games made developers go under and good games made developers survive.
But of course it isn't game quality which decides it, it's sales! And if you think only good games sell well and bad games don't then you're kidding yourself.
I wonder what he is referring to when he says "compared to what you would argue is the best looking shooter out there". I guess it doesn't matter as all the "top graphical" shooters run at 30fps.
It's a wait and see game for me. It looks like it could be fun but at the moment it doesn't look like it does anything new.
I've played none, but never claimed I have. Well, I started play ICO but it didn't really work for me and also started Deus Ex but was just borrowing from a friend so didn't get a chance to do much in it.
I'm not sure why there is such a myth as to the reason behind FFXIII-2. Regardless of metacritic score, FFXIII sold. It sold well. Those numbers alone justify (from a business standpoint, not artistic) another iteration.
I like the comment and I do disagree that apple will dominate the gaming market. However, I don't think they need to have a console of their own to take a good chunk of the gaming market. Apple are and will be all about leveraging their existing products. They are about putting games onto devices that people already have with them i.e. their phone or portable computer/tablet pc. There are real advantages to this.
Everyone has a phone these days not just tech minded or ga...
It's a shame that games like these do so well. Not saying the game is bad just that its cheap (to make) and casual. I just worry when I see games like this doing so well that games bosses will stop making full content "hardcore" games. I hope they don't though.
No one likes Yuna? I think she would have to be my favourite out of the bunch there. I mean they are all great characters (especially like Alyx and Elena) but I really liked the way the cute feminine appearance and demeanour belies the strong will and determination underneath. What you see is not always what you get with Yuna which makes her interesting as a character.
She always was...... *sigh*
Really? Well in that case I'll just drop a grand on 3DTV. Thanks for letting me know. \s
Seems overly harsh.
Good review, clearly explains the likes and dislikes of the games (although some strange comma usage :-p ). And seems to match my opinion pretty well!
Admit it, it was the cleavage that made it look interesting..... :-p
I like this review. It takes into account of the downfalls and fully admits that DNF falls down in a number of areas but it also celebrates what it is. Not forgiving it just more understanding it.
i think it's a mistake to support windows phone 7 before android. iphone development I can understand but not doing Android next I can't.
The reviewer found the accents hard to understand?!? I guess he's American?
Seems like fun. I've never heard of it before this preview. I might go and google who it's by.
Edit: Strike that, it's in the video. Eko Software!
