Seems like all the negatives where technical. Story-wise the game is top notch!
I like the attention to detail. Take for example the skin colour changes at the top of trips top. You can see tan lines. Now I don't mention this in a "Ooo Bewbs!" kind of way but more appreciating the realistic attention to detail. What the tan lines give the impression of here is that the top isn't just a polygonal model that's static and lifeless but a real piece of material that moves and will require adjusting from time to time.

This is the first review that mentioned QTE! Why do developers insist on using rubbish cutscene spoiling mechansim?

Edit: And yeah, rubbish review. I really didn't think he clear explained why the game deserved a 7.5 which on their scoring system is just and average to good. At least some websites really explain their reasoning. Also, how is "not castlevania" really a negati...

People seem to be on a bit of Ninja Theory hate band wagon probably because they think NT f**ked up the Dante redesign. And they are right, NT have turned him into a twilight-emo that probably is cool only in eyes of angsty teens.
However, each game should be judge on it's own merits and I for one played the Enslaved demo and enjoyed it. It didn't set the world on fire but I left the demo wanting to play more which is probably the demo's job done really. Can'...
Actually one of the more damning reviews. It's funny how reviews directly conflict sometimes. This review said that they camera was annoying and unhelpful while another review said it was one of the most geniously implemented cameras they had ever seen.
I felt that this review sounded overly harsh but I won't know until I play it. I suspect that there might be elements of tediousness in this game but I will get it anyway.

If it was live action I would agree but from what I have seen of him recently I would say that he could definitely record lines for a game assuming the game producers had patience with the recording. But that's just my personal impression.
BTW, in scrubs he played someone with OCD not Parkinsons.
I just looked at the trailer again with the intention of giving new dante another chance and, nope, he still looks like a d1ck.

I played the PS3 demo last night and the audio was just ahead of the lip movement. Not by much, but enough to annoy me.
but that wasn't my point. My point was more about the perception of a body portrayed in that way.
Or maybe the disagrees weren't as literal as that. Maybe the disagrees were actually saying that they disagree with what the person thinks rather than the literal statement. So they are effectively saying that they do like the game.
I think this happens a lot. People disagree with the opinion not the statement otherwise it would mean like you said, that they are telling the person what he does and doesn't like.
you said exactly what I was thinking! I actually WANT the Japanese culture. It's one aspect that would make the game feel really unique from western releases.
Ok, one point. If they don't want Samus to be an over-sexualised cliché but do want her to have emotions befitting a (female) character then I reckon they should have given her more realistic body dimensions. I know that her figure hasn't been mentioned before and might initially seem irrelevant but it is all part of her overall look and how she is perceived as a character.
