Same. The Walden/Civil Disobedience duo is a must-read imo.
I think the issue is this college gaming lab were building a wilderness simulation in Unity and then looked for inspiration to 'gamify' it enough to make a sellable product. Naturally, they looked to the public domain first.
Well... not quite to the extent of a red MetaScore, but it was slammed quite often. Having completed it, it was totally justified at the time. To the point I severely doubt Experiment 101's updates have really moved to needle to 9/10-worthy. Then again, I came away really soured by it (played at launch & finished during 1.3 version).
Nintendo's subtle way of admitting there's an issue. :P
You kidding? 3.1 at max.
Silent Hill: Shattered Memories was well-received.
What changed since then?
I get the feeling this is your default answer. :P
Meh. They're passable experiences when considering the inventiveness of other point-n-click adventures.
Indeed! Assemble Entertainment owns the rights and they published a 'soft-reboot' of the series with Wet Dreams Don't Dry. This is the sequel.
Thank you FanboysKiller. You brought us this epic crossover.
You effectively can play this alone. Captain Jack will effectively act as your companion.
As disappointed as I came away with it, at least they're addressing fundamental issues.
This is from a new team by a Playdead co-founder, so there's definitely similar DNA between them.
"That's got to be the best crossover I have ever seen."
You mean 45 mins of that won't be taken up by Todd Howard talking about a couple games?
@Apoc
I'm not really sure how to approach the first 1/2 of your response. I don't think it's helpful to start gish galloping me about a Ghost of Tsushima review that I don't believe either of us read. Have you read it to understand the reviewer's point? Because I haven't. Like I said, I'm willing to meet halfway and say "okay... I follow your point about their potentially-pretentious prose." But I'll admit I'm at least a bi...
@Apoc
Well, okay. Flowery (dare I say pretentious?) writing is one thing I can understand. When it comes to game reviews, that's a taste issue I can follow. One I'll agree to for now, but wouldn't mind challenging you on should I read their latest stuff.
But in regards to their scores not meeting avg. audiences, you're getting mighty close to expecting they HAVE to fall in line more often. To me: if they're often not reflecting the...
EDGE still has their magazine subscription going so I'm not sure why their popularity in the sub-section of a site matters, especially when it's populated by other running gaming mags. It's amazing to see this kind of seething for a game getting a 7 instead of an 8 or 9. Remember to take deep breaths.
EDGE has awarded every mainline Uncharted game an 8/10 or 9/10, so I'm not sure what you're going on about.
This is the gaming equivalent to the success of Michael Bay's Transformers.
