My comments higher up are solely questioning the logic behind slamming a website's/magazine's opinion solely over their score, instead of going after their context. Since HarryMasonHerpDer provides an example of questionable judgement found in the written portion of the review, I almost fainted because someone actually did something I've been telling others to do for a long time.
Sooo......technically....any sort of sarcasm shouldn't be detected, more so when...
Wrong? What are you talking about? That's the very reason why I said well done!
lol...did everyone miss that? I was only prepared to faint because I didn't suspect someone would DO something I've actually said for quite some time.
-"why? because in their cases, it isn't consistently against a certain platform or company. it tends to naturally balance out."
So...you essentially admit that an act of balancing with the aggregate score on metacritic for one specific platform is more important to you then what the reviewer(s) have to say? We're suppose to determine whether the review(er) in question makes consistent points, not by looking at fluctuations on a flow chart.
...
Grabbing context from the review in order to raise questions of whether or not partiality is involved. Well done!
- A magazine's opinion often differing from the aggregate score on metacritic?
or
- Someone actually being compelled to slam them based solely on those unpopular scores?
Hope everyone enjoyed the review! :D
It's funny to see how much exposition I've added since my first n4g review, which was coincidentally on Alan Wake. The only thing that was tough about this review is considering the score for a game that contains most of the technical visual/audio/gameplay assets from the original game, yet transitions from $60 to $15; so I was left with the question of figuring out how much that alleviates some of the faults I found with the game...

-"He is just comparing a great story game to another great story game."
I get the point of comparing great story GAMES, but the stories themselves don't give weight to comparison since they're both rooted in different genres. A comparison between either R*'s other recent creations or the previous Max Payne titles would be a more legitimate comparison.

I'm just honestly not sure if these comparisons with Uncharted are called for. I mean...if anyone knows plots/stories, they'll know Uncharted doesn't hold any strengths beside the light-hearted comedic adventure scripts (most of which only gets credit by being supported by the interplay with mo cap) and the storytelling through great presentation values.
If you say Payne 3 surpasses Rockstar's other recent works, like GTAIV's unflinching narrative or RDR&...

You're able to get an ample amout of information about a supposed mute's back story solely through the use of conversations heard by NPCs; you certainly learned more about your character through that than Hale or Sev in their bland lines in cutscenes.
I didn't read anything that gave me the inclination to believe these characters HAD Battle Royale nominees. The writer is counting every single game that can be played on the PS3 and choosing the top 5 worst protagonists from that entire library.

Sorry
Wouldn't the fact that japanese shmups (<-is that spelled right?) are continually releasing on the 360 discredit the fact that there's almost no audience for it?
I was worried they were getting soft.
Whenever job postings mention the term "AAA" it's in regards to the proposed budget. It's a hiring tactic to woo those with more prestigious backgrounds, whether it's art/game design, director, etc., by essentially stating the job will pay fairly handsomely.
Actually, the title was awarded nearly a month after ME3's release (April 4, 2012). I'm not entirely sure how long the users have to vote, but this link gives me reason to believe most ran concurrently with what was left available in the brackets ("real-time" voting instead of pooling all the votes at an earlier date):

Do state governments really have the right to foot 75 million dollars of taxpayer money on a loan that was guaranteed not to be paid off for quite some time? They're shuttling so much money for less than 500 jobs; even worse, they're doing it during a time the US is "recovering" (face it, we're still not out of this) from one of its worse recessions yet. The deal just doesn't seem logical at this moment.
