May I ask if you purchased the PC version? From what I've heard/seen, most complaints for early PC buyers (I bought this around Nov./Dec.) was the lack of visual settings, resulting in odd framerate issues.
Double Post. Sorry.
Remember when this saying was saved to serve as a reminder for us to focus on the game's quality?
I can agree the community gets too tightly wound up from eye-catching titles to bother reading the satirical body of the opinion piece.
I'll make it public here to implore users who've luckily caught the joking article before everyone else (typically in pending) to point out whether it's serious or not. I try to give a 'Helpful' bubble for those who do.
As it currently stands, Playground Games (the team it was outsourced to) is still in business and currently hiring.

No, that was meant to hint at my decision of letting you win one of February's contests.

[O_O]~
I've had this saved for later on amazon for quite some time but haven't come around to purchasing. :/
It's certainly nice to have adequately-timed reviews like this to remind me of what other promising games I need to sink my teeth in. Thanks for the review, Nate!
The thing we have to consider is how much more the average development cost between the average 6th-gen game and 7th-gen game had rose dramatically ( http://www.gamespy.com/arti...
Although I'm sure they're going to continue going up in cost, I think publishers can find ways to grab more revenue through other means: DLC, books, soundtracks, etc. etc.
I'll have to be honest: I have a bunch of puzzle games in my backlog that may/may not have those qualities you're asking for (I'm simply not sure yet).
Of the ones I do know fit that criteria would be Braid, besides what I already mentioned. Braid gets hit with the "pretentious badge" by some (although that slander is sooo overused in our community), but I thought it did a wonderful job of spinning the "save the princess" trope on its head. <...
It's just that the "execution of puzzles" part in your first comment left me a bit confused.
My head:
"Does he mean other games using portals?..."
"...Does he mean first-person, psychics-based puzzlers?..."
"...Or is he just asking me of other quality puzzle/platformer games I can recommend?"
Could you rephrase that first question, o sly mod? I'd really like to...
n4g could use more articles like this on here.
You see...the last Sly Cooper before Thieves was made in the PS2 era. Since then, reviewers have burned through numerous 3D platformers that may have provided some sort of nuance (be it gameplay, online functions, etc.) that makes the recent Sly feel "old-hat" in their opinion. (Note: I haven't played it so that's pure speculation)
In Gears' case, those reviewers may have already predetermined "from what I've played, no other TPS series does X...
From what I've played: The KZ3 demo plays much differently than the adored KZ2.
Edit: The Witcher 1 and Witcher 2. ;)
Do you mean other first-person puzzlers I can suggest? Well...if you haven't already, buy Portal: Still Alive (or pick up The Orange Box for Portal and company). Other than that...I can't really think of any besides the Portals and Quantum that have this structure atm.
You might be interested in The Witness, that's soon to release.
If I may have missed what you were trying to say just let me know. :)
Thank you. :)
That promise is actually tempting me to mess with you more. I've always wanted to scratch two different areas of my body at once. :P
Beat me to it. Just another uninspired "hero holding gun" box art.
Would've been nice to see some sort of techie-inspired theme, like an eagle eye view of the city connected via cameras, cell phones, etc. (only hinted at in this one).
I actually found that to be a design choice I liked in the game. Being constantly worried of your wins/losses from a climb is something that fits perfectly with the setting.
But judging by others' comments, I suppose I was lucky with the path-finding, possibly causing me to miss the more frustrating moments like you stated.
Hope everyone enjoyed the review!
When looking here and at BOII, I can admit I've started off by being a softy on my scores (wasn't my new year's resolution :P); BUT IN THIS CASE, I feel I need to delve further on a portion of the criticism that you, the viewer, may find to be a greater nuisance: redundancy in architecture.
From another review: "Taken in small doses, any given level in Quantum Conundrum can be a fun diversion. As a whole, it ...
This sort of news only comes every so often. Do you really have to berate another poster who just wanted to post a blog showing their excitement?

I can't wait to see what interesting info the rest of this dev series will offer. :D
