No reviewer is unbiased.
That's kind of disgusting to insinuate that being Germany's mindset behind this, especially when considering preaching Holocaust denial is a criminal offense over there.
As stated in comment #8, stuff like Schnidler's List (uncensored) and other works of art have been considered over there with swastikas present. When it comes to games, perhaps it's still officially just considered "play time" over there and/or maybe the fact of there being a lose s...
Some interesting titles I have to check out.
"but Sony are more consistent at delivering games that balance quirkiness and a strong variety of lasting gameplay and you can rely on Sony more to have sequels - or spiritual sequels- to such games if it is valid to do so."
Yeah, it used to sway the other way in the late '00's but for a couple of years now, you're talking about a serious gain from Sony. That's what I liked about last yea...
@Hicken
"I've made many in depth critiques about their reviews in the past. Unfortunately, it's a site where Chick, in particular, has a little army of followers to support him, and he takes no such critiques seriously, because he knows he can get away with whatever he does."
Given what you've complained about already, I'm willing to go out on a limb and question the validity of all your so-called 'in-depth critiques' instead...
"Because it clearly shows that the review system is flawed if a superior game to titanfall now or in a year's time gets a similar or lower score."
First, I'm not sure why you'd say now or in a year's time b/c my statement only reflected future tense. According to many, there isn't that many superior games now for this particular genre/niche anyways. So let's look at the "in a year's time." That wouldn't be a sign of a fla...
@Hicken
First half: That's not really connected to what I stated anyways, but you're free to vent that frustration towards the written content of this review (and have at least acted mature to not just cry about scores), here or at that site.
"The other big problem is that such an unprofessional source is given credibility when it comes to metacritic."
For an "unprofessional source," he does have a history of post...
"like the other guy who said that a game doesn't have to be fun to play."
Depending on the context of describing "fun," which is kind of an empty term anyway, that doesn't sound beyond stupid to me.
I don't get how hypothetically speaking about the supposed TF2 in the future would diminish what TF is NOW. When looking at the field of online shooters as it is right now, why can't a 9/10 be allowed here when it already has innovative features and well-designed maps that are pretty big already?
Given that the site reflects Netflix's Hated it/Loved it template, it's really not that big of a deal as you're making it out to be.
@xHeavyx
Technically, he didn't review it. Brandon Cackowski-Schnell is the one who did.
Shoot...didn't notice that one. Could you just count my first comment?
It's just a fun power-up extra. Not sure how that really tarnishes a movie icon.
You really should since it's around $20 on amazon atm.
I was honestly rather disappointed in Jak3 when it was all said and done. It...still makes the cut of being in the very good/great, but just falters under the ambitious weight of Jak 2.
-The story just went in a direction I couldn't follow after the cutscene of looking through that telescope at a comet and then walking around in a mech.
-The tedious nature of side-quests
-Felt rather safe aside from the driving aspect
I appreciate the idea of the story, but despise the execution of so much of it.
Since so much of it is built on plot threads unrelated to the over-arching narrative, so many characters are just there. One-dimensional cut-outs that don't have to develop, and or sometimes even just outright stereotyped. One of the worst examples of non-linear storytelling I've seen in a game too.
Writers talking about retro games pops up quite often too. I don't see why there should be some arbitrary time limit for posting opinion pieces on certain titles, and certainly not for ones that have released so recently.
@datpanda
Ahh...I see. Didn't even notice that.
Indeed they are. Although...I do have to question some of the strategies for getting that high since fps can be manipulated a bit in low power mode for certain Android devices.
Rex Power (<-win if so)
Johnathan Taylor
"Maybe they don't want to trivialize the matter with a dumb computer game."
And that kind of stinks if that's their outlook too b/c even games like Velvet Assassin, crafted by German developers who took the subject matter very seriously, have to get the same sort of treatment.
