I remember seeing this on their Grounded doc video. Definitely didn't look that pretty early on in comparison to the final product.
Fair enough. While I thank you for the compliments, I would like to say that I most certainly am biased--like everyone else. Certain genres don't catch my interest that often, there are qualities in story, gameplay design, and more I may appreciate or dislike more than the Average Joe, etc.
Very glad to see you enjoyed the review. Thanks for bringing your input as well.

@ShowGun901
I think you're over-exaggerating a bit in suggesting everyone gave Drake's Fortune a 9+.
"while the critisisms he states are valid, most people apparently weigh the pros and cons very differently than the reviewer."
There could also be other factors to consider like how I noticed certain pro's and con's that may not have been noticed or even regarded by other people.

Yes...how could I simply find the time between work and all of my waking off-hours moderating and not doing funny things to others' rando comments?

Congratulations to all winners.
I was interested to see the review contest results for this month given the disparity between mine and Cat's UC review (first time I think that's occurred). The love for hunk Drake won out against me, unfortunately. :(

Should've waited on grabbing Datura and Fat Princess, it seems.
Dang it!
Thanks for bringing that up. As Bit said, that's one of the terms I'd call Uncharted 1. Decent, above average, you get the picture: when looking at all the elements, it's an inoffensive time-sink that I believe most (but not an overwhelming majority) will enjoy enough for what a publisher believed it to be initially worth.
I essentially yanked rottentomatoes' scoring system to get a little more leeway in scoring and what I'm trying to communicate to th...
Whether or not you're okay with the score, it still stands. I believe I've presented more than enough reasoning on my part to express why I believe Uncharted: DF to be a decent game. As detailed above, my annoyances are more than just the action being a bit tedious at times or the story not winning any awards. Even with it being so safe in extracting several tried and tested formulas elsewhere, I still notice design issues that work against both the player experience and the sense ...
"Not sure if Online is being considered a score, since the game doesn't have any and shouldn't form part of the review."
As with any other SP title I've reviewed, the 0.0 online score isn't considered with the overall score for the reason you suggested. Regardless of it being a SP-only game, the online tab can't be removed from sub-categories so I just put in a throwaway line like "no integral online components" or mention DLC to make ...
I don't remember Edge doing .5 scores before. But in any case, they're more than welcome to express their dissatisfaction with a game, even when I'm anticipating I'll disagree with that score.
Interesting review. Getting more and more tempted to get this game in the near future (even with backlog considered).
Indeed. With releases like Titanfall, inFamous: SS, and other hits disrupting gamer's avg. hours in bed, I felt obligated to get another Ambien review to the front page pronto.
The question now is how will my UC2 and UC3 review turn out, considering they have co-op and competitive MP. XD
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Picnic (and you too, Scroggz).
DF SPOILER WARNING BELOW
Naughty Dog really did have a good handling of the CELL with their first attempt. I'd argue Heavenly Sword would've been another one to consider as well. I don't remember many framerate problems during the finale (and that was pretty huge).
"In fact I'd argue that some of its cut scenes have a slightly cartoony freshness to them th...
I respectfully disagree. I really do like the both versions of Clone Wars in different ways.
I believe some are going a bit too far with what's implicated. Since so many of the games don't take place post-Return of the Jedi, they're not all guaranteed to be on the canon chopping block. Same with EU.
In fact, since all content within The Clone Wars TV series has been determined to be canon, someone like Darth Bane must exist due to one of the Lost Missions episodes acknowledging him and starting the Rule of Two.
Be sure to keep the hole that's been dug up open for copies of RtH: Retribution and Colonial Marines to fit in.
Nice catch.
Congratulations, Mike Bithell. Want to see what all the fuss is about in the near future.
Fair question. The thing you have to take into account is the overall score mentions "out of 10/ not an average" below the 6.5 blue text. What I was intending to communicate with the sub-categories was this:
-With only gameplay + fun factor (<-enjoyablility, narrative, yada yada yada) considered, I have very mixed feelings about Drake's Fortune: it plays it really safe while also having a lot of design issues that would be considered "papercut" ...
Hope everyone enjoyed the review (Meesa no think so). Feel free to leave any comments and/or questions in the comment section.
Shocking as though it may seem, I'm not trying to frame this as how it holds up now with other Uncharted games out or anything like that. That's a point that's been raised in a review or two in the past and I just wanted to point that out.
Edit: Hey! You beat me, Derek! >:(

It definitely is a very fun game. Tbh, I don't see a problem with the 3 different chassis when looking at the balance. It's the typical rock/paper/scissors setup where each type complements what another is lacking.
When it comes to the Titans, I just wish there'd be some cosmetic customization.
