It was because MS released a console at a 200 dollar loss and Sony a 300 dollar one. They both lost so much money and didnt start really recouping until 2011. The slow release schedule to this day shows that they weren't even ready by 2013 for a new gen.
Honestly for all the western studios that Sony has partially layed off or closed entirely, the fact that Team Ico has been getting a paycheck despite their last game being over 10 years ago on the PS2 is really baffling.
Here's to hoping the game delivers, though.
What did Platinum do?
I think if it were coming this year Sony would have revealed it already.
I think Scorpio and Neo are similar in theory but they both seem to have different motives. The Scorpio sounds like a super premium model of the Xbone, basically MS is releasing a next gen console early for those willing to pay for it. Eventually it will be the base model xbone as the older xbox one will eventually be incompatible with high-spec games.
The Neo sounds like a slightly...
Ever since Spotie left magiciandude has had nothing better to do than troll.
Assuming it does come out this year.
I disagreed because i dont think it is.
Monolithsoft has a solid track record and isn't even really an outside dev since Nintendo owns like 95% of them. They probably dont even have any creative influence - they're there since they have the most experience with large scale open worlds out of all Nintendo's studios.
Ori doesnt need a remaster.
To anyone who hates digital distribution, you can buy Ori physical. I hope future MS-backed titles like Cuphead and We happy few do too.

I disagree, the 360 and PS3 were much closer than the 8th gen consoles. There were a lot of games on both platforms that nearly matched each other. The 360 and ps3 both had distinct advantages in certain areas whereas the xbone only has a slightly better cpu that rarely makes a difference.
I'm sure a sleazy journalist question prompted this too.
I get that perspective, but the tone is definitely in the right place. I just hope RE7 doesn't become a walking simulator let's play fodder or a run n' hide. It's a little too historical to go that route, imo.
I think the only issue i have so far is that the game's are all a little too serious. Like when i heard they were making a post-apocalyptic biker game i expected something a bit more light hearted and crazy. Even GoW which is usually pretty meat-headed in terms of story seems to be taking a more serious route.
But there's still plenty of conference to go - just a nitpick.
Love the nordic take and the game looks beautiful but i'm just not sure if the new camera angle is doing the combat any favors.
Edit: Also the live music is very impressive.
It's some kind of puzzle platformer with shooter combat. It's being made by Inafune (Megaman) and former Metroid Prime devs so that should give some clues as to the gameplay.
I don't much get the R&C comparisons at all, outside of maybe the budget price point.
I can't see why people would be upset. Now it'll be that much easier to find a game online, and now there are friends i have on PC that i can play with on my xbone.
Saying it was any better for one than the other would imply that Xbox owners are being deprived of something the PC isn't - and that simply isn't the case. They're both getting the same games, hell, if you get the xbox version you get a free windows 10 version for a lot of these games.
Dead Rising 4 is the only exclusive they seem to have to push specifically for the holiday.
But they have Forza, Gears 4, and ReCore for the fall which will still drive holiday sales.
They didn't say anything about Sea of Thieves being delayed though, so there's hope there.
I can't see them having much success with anything over 599. They'll market it as a premium model Xbone before transitioning it over the next few years into the mainline console, with the former Xbox One being a budget console if there's even any interest retained in it by 2018 and beyond.
Saw it coming but sad to see it lacking at e3. It was probably saved for Gamescom or something.
Actually their explanation for the Scorpio is that it represents the end of the generation model for MS.
