Im guessing LO started development around 2005-06, which was a very awkward time for Japanese gaming. The PS3 adoption was slow and the system was difficult to develop for. But at the same time people knew the 360 wasn't going to see wide adoption in Japan.
Too bad it wasn't released later because you can see it had a lot of heart behind it.

The best comparison is torrent clients, they are legal to own and sell but the torrents themselves are often illegal. Same thing with emulators and ROM's.
Ive been saying it for years now, Super Mario Multiverse is the logical place to go after space.

I wasn't impressed with the game, i have a right to call it whatever. It was a cool and ambitious concept, that's kind of a given. We spent 2 years "giving it credit" for its design, now we can call it what it actually is (whatever that may be).
If the games werent making money they wouldn't have 9 different games in such a short timeframe
If they delay zelda they delay NX, period. Why launch without Zelda?

I guarrantee you DQ anything will sell better on 3ds at this point. Its like how Smash bros sold better on there despite being a worse version.
I felt like they had a chance to revive console gaming with the ps4, but failed.
Its been 3 years and the divisive MGS 5 and a few niche rpg's is all Japanese devs put out.
In fact the only surprise hit console game this gen was Splatoon.
Jim Jones was also just plain crazy though, as a religious zealot. He found weak people and took them in to increase his own influence.
Ryan genuinely thought he figured out the problems of the world and felt his city would be standing long after everything else. He was just wrong, not particularly manipulative.

No, but the games are barely improved outside of the cutscenes in 1, and this is 20 bucks for each of them.
I did multiple playthroughs to all 3 Bioshock games and that's why i cant rationalize putting out 60 dollars to play 3 old games.
If you never played the games its totally worth 60, but that kind of applies to any remaster.
Also didnt buy Battlefront, but if thats how you accept an opinion different than your's, whatever.....

The PS4 Pro and Scorpio are obviously made with different reasons though. Sony still plans on a PS5 while MS is abandoning the generation format with Scorpio. Scorpio is basically a next gen console being released early as a premium model, and the Pro is just a premium model PS4.
