@ChronoJoe
When i think "good consumer reception", i dont picture record level refunds.
Im sure there were worse games this year though.
If we're including handhelds than the ps2 (2000-2013) lived through:
Gamecube
Gameboy Advance
DS
Wii
3ds
Wii U
Less than that. There's a lot of wii u's on shelves, i predict like 14.5 million wii u's lifetime.
I feel the same way, back in 2013 i felt like the only one misled by these previews. I really feel like this game got a free pass in that sense, purely because it had a gimmicky plot twist that doesn't even follow the game's own rules.
I just hope Red Dead doesnt have obnoxious MT's.
Early on i thought the shark cards were okay but after they nerfed Rooftop Run and made it impossible to make money, then added all this 10 million dollar stuff... GTA Online is basically pay to win.
The whole "2" thing isnt an issue. Multiplayer shooters get away with that year after year.
The issue was little marketing mixed with a release date sandwiched between BF1 and COD
I mean in 2006 the PS2 had 103 million sales, and over the next few years it ended up at 155 million. Sony likes to sell their hardware for much longer than MS and Nintendo.
Are they? Last i heard about a patch was like early september. They have a long way to go to bring people back to the game.
I mean this isnt like the 8th gen consoles where you have to install every game. The games come on cartridges so they wont need to be installed. But you still need room for update data and i regularly install 2-4 GB updates for a lot of games and those pile up.
4GB of ram is not much either and the supplemental computing things are an interesting idea but will only work if bundled.
@Coolbeans
I like your perspective, and i also said below it all comes down to that stupidly minimalistic modern military game cover. For all the hurdles BF1 crossed, the fact that they stuck to the same damn cover every shooter's had since Cod 4 is surprising.
The difference between falsely diversifying the game world and the addition of anachronistic technology is that the first would be done for no other reason than to pander and the latter would b...
The thing is, we're talking about a war from over 100 years ago. I get the complaint about white avatars in fictional games, but this is a war which actually happened 100 years ago which largely didn't include many black people. Why should we pretend it does by over-representing? Is that pat on the back worth falsifying history?
I dont see much issue with it. But it would be fair to say it doesn't reflect the racial breakdown of the war. Its the issue with military shooter covers - always a lone gunman running at the screen.
They should've done a group of soldiers, with a few black guys thrown in. That wouldn't be disrespectful to black soldiers, and would reflect their minority in the war.
You guys are right, i mixed up wars. So it would be 1/12 of Americans, and probably an even smaller fraction on the world scale of the war.
I agree with the whole "you can only see the hands thing" (which i also said in my comment), but i dont think its racist to scoff at an disproportionate number of black people in a WW1 game. I also dont think its progressive to re-write history.
I think that aspect of a war game should be accurate. Lets say 10% of the soldiers in a given war were black... just reflect that in the game.
You're right, the cover was probably chosen as a defense to the SJW lynch mob rather than a genuine reflection of WW1. But, in bf1 im playing in first person as a guy wearing gloves, i dont even know what color i am anyway. As long as there isnt an in-your-face agenda, i dont care. To the people mad at this article though...
"The 16 million men and women in the services included over 1 million blacks, along with 10,000 to 20,000 Japanese Americans, Chinese American...
They should add a notification to the leaders as well because every time im leader it takes me like half the game to notice :/
The hellreigel is honestly kind of OP. Theres no reason to choose any other SMG when it has double the ammo, faster fire rate, and good accuracy.
Did you play Bayonetta 2 recently?
big bad co 2 fan here, you won't be disappointed. I hated bf3 and bf4 thoroughly.
Outrun 2 is a great game. Its a shame that games like this are so scarce these days.
