Looks like a decent PC game. Its got pretty good image quality, decent anti aliasing, nice bells and whistles. Framerate could be a bit better in places but it IS a launch game and it doesn't crumble like some other launch titles on the new consoles.
I'm not mindblown because thats all I play for years now, but compared to 360 and PS3 720p or less and jagfests, its a big leap.
It is a proper next gen looking shooter that existing consoles couldn't...

Sometimes people are wrong. Maybe its wrong at source or the understanding is misinterpreted, and he ends up getting it wrong. Maybe what he says changes the next day after he has heard or written about...
To be truthful F1 2013 I played on PC looks better because that has the day/night transition of the real race.
Plus why does the driver take his hand off the wheel to change gear? Seriously have they never seen how to change gear in an F1 car or wut.

I just don't use them, voice control never works properly no matter what it is in.
They don't work if you are in a state of the art 200k Mercedes S Class that cost hundreds of millions to develop over decades or a 20k Ford Fusion.
But the buttons on the steering wheel- they always work. I was never that interested in technologies that don't actually work properly or better than existing much more reliable, cheaper ones. Like buttons.

PS4 has 8gb 5500mhz memory on a 256bit bus. Thats 176Gb/s TOTAL, with apparently about 20GB/s reserved for the CPU, making 156Gb/s for the GPU.
It has 5Gb free for games (512mb paging).
So realistically, most games might use about 3Gb for video memory for quite a while, tops.
A midrange Radeon 7950 has 3Gb GDDR5, on a 384 bit bus with 240GB/s memory bandwidth, DEDICATED just for graphics...
So you're saying Xbox One's CPU, GPU and now RAM are outdated just as the machine launches?
I don't want them to take features out, but if I were forced to take any one track out of GT5 Top Gear track would be nearer the top of the list.
Its so flat, featureless and uninspiring.
Its a test track on an airfield with basic corners marked out by cones and paint on a runway and taxiways, not a race track. Fine for testing, bad for actual racing.
Bathurst and Spa are two newer tracks (Spa I know was GT5 DLC), and they are world class...
I'll be surprised if Xbox One doesn't have a price slash within about 6 months of it hitting the shelves.
Sony can sit on their price until Xbox one lowers itself closer to them. They will always have the cheaper console at this rate, if Microsoft don't ditch kinect which seems unlikely to me.

It DOES look better, but not like leaps and bounds better. This is a proper old video though. I saw something like it a couple months ago.
So much of the performance is swallowed up by more than doubling the native resolution.
It isn't blowing my mind but I do think back to how much better Forza 3 looked than Forza 2. So Maybe Forza 6 will be a better leap.

WORSE framerate dips on Xbox One at 720p than on PS4 at 1080p.
Dear god, it sounds like it needs to be sub HD on Xbox One to run properly.
At least if worse comes to worse they could shave off 10 percent resolution on PS4 and it'll run much smoother and hardly make much difference, if they do that to Xbox One it would be sub HD.

If the press and the media and the technology websites and everyone didn't keep telling us year after year we should buy new HDTVs, we must get better technology, you should get bluray/HD DVD for the full HD movies for your full HDTV, Onlive sucks cos the bitrates and resolutions are fuzzy, super fast internet for full HD streaming is what you want, bad lower res PS3 ports are awful and you shouldn't put up with it, and on and on......
The game will be better on PC. Not a super expensive, killer beast machine either.
I bet anything its 720p on Xbone, and I bet that a fairly weak gaming PC will hammer the Xbone on this game. Anyone with a Radeon 7850 or better will take Xbone to the cleaners it seems on any game.
They do on COD and BF4, so its inevitable they will on this too.
Have to wait and see if these games are actually any good. Launch titles often bomb, many seem good before you play them in all the previews but in practice so few launch titles are ever any good when the machine finally hits.
People will buy these console based on their gaming performance over the next 5 years not in the first month.
Xbox One looks like it has a better launch lineup I agree on that. Sony feel like they have the better future of their console...
