Does your old TV have an HDMI port or are you gonna use a converter?

Playing low-res content on low-res TV's is the right call, as it doesn't display as crisp on newer TV's. The same goes for last gen's 720p titles on 4K TV's, they get blurrier the further they are from native resolution.

I still play tons of gen 4 and 5 games, but my oldest surviving TV is an old 40-inch 1080p.

Don't be ashamed of some twelve year old edgelord on the internet calling you weeb. If you want to play MGS, Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, Nioh, Dead Rising, Bloodborne, Yakuza or a thousand other Japanese games, go ahead. They're all worthwhile. You shouldn't let people like that tell you what's unacceptable.

I recommend for any Dark Souls fan interested in its world or otherwise confused.

Hell, it's entertaining even if you just want a depressing fantasy story to forget about your day.

lock on was first featured in a 3rd-person action game with Mega Man Legends, but Ocarina definitely improved and popularized it. They had to, they only had one stick.

You want a tough open world RPG, try starting a new game on Oblivion with the difficulty slider set to 100. You really will be saving after every encounter.

Uncharted 4 on crushing is a great difficulty. Very fair, but challenging.

And then you have late-game areas like the pirate mansion entrance and the wrecked ships, where the game takes a brutal turn that feels more like some kind of high-level horde mode. God forbid you're like me and went into any of these areas without ammo, or an unsuited weapon. Yeesh.

Speaking of Souls series though, Death March is nothing when it is the first game you played after playing through Bloodborne. I was extremely disappointed in the enemy's AI for The Witcher 3 as you could just maneuver out of a flanked position and wail on an enemy.

The tougher, the better when it comes to any game where you get stronger over time.

It will NEVER happen through Bethesda. Going to have to go PC for that.

Nude mods are alright, Pantz, but they get old fast. The best thing about them in my opinion is you can make characters even with clothing (modded clothing) on either a more realistic shape than Bethesda's models, or more ideal to your own individual needs. Even to the point of realistic physics on hair, clothes, etc.

"Speaking of Kinect, Amunra, how many of the peripherals Sony developed are now being used for robotics, surgeries, ghost hunting, or other fantastic uses?"

Sony doesn't peddle its video game peripherals on businesses because it creates technology for those businesses already. Everyone knows that Sony makes some of the best high-end cameras and sensors for many industrial uses. As far as medicine, they make 3D cameras for robotics suitabl...

PSP was supported heavily. Take that off your crazy list.

I got a lot of fun out of Fallout Shelter, but once I made the Nuka-Cola plant it felt like there was no more real progression in the game. I'm not much of a mobile gamer though.

This was a problem at launch and Bethesda still haven't figured out a fix from what I gather. The only thing you can try is to whitelist the game in any antivirus programs, and more importantly to open up the executable itself (rather than the launcher) in administrator mode. This rarely helps, but you never know. When I did this it started up properly but without online capabilities for some reason.

My preferred option is to just download the mobile version. No fuss.

Was I the only one who read the article?

"However, frame-pacing on Xbox One isn't quite right. Where 360 delivers new frames in 16ms and 33ms intervals, Xbox One often tosses in a bunch of 50ms and even 66ms spikes. The end result is that while mathematically, GTA4 runs faster on Xbox One than it does on Xbox 360, the experience is something else entirely. It feels choppier and more uneven, while controller latency - hardly one of the game's strongest points on...

@Princess_Pilfer

It is impossible to get Fallout 4 to 60fps on any console currently out or announced. The CPU's just aren't strong enough.

If you had a beastly GPU in your PC, but a lackluster CPU, Fallout 4 would wreck your fps in certain areas and firefights.

30fps is the right move in situations like this, but I suppose an uncapped framerate would be interesting.

A bit late, so no one will read this probably, but the framerate and load stutter are improved quite a bit but not perfect.

My stress test in downtown area was very disappointing, though. With modded heavy plasma storm and a 3-way faction battle the frames got dropped heavily. Probably lows of around 15-20fps.

Again, this was my biggest stress test, and nothing else I could find in the Commonwealth or Far Harbor could replicate those FPS spikes. It should...

Just use ENB for Bethesda games Oblivion and up.

Actually, according to Digital Foundry, the Xbox One is fine with frame pacing during exploration, but frame pacing and the Xbox-unique frame rate problems start occurring during combat. The base PS4 version holds frame rate if not pacing, because during combat the game just lowers resolution to 900p.

PS4 has as good performance as it can handle.

PS4 Pro plays non-Pro games at PS4 levels even though it is much more powerful.

This "boost mode" unlocks the Pro's raw GPU power and utilizes its CPU overclock when playing games that don't have a Pro patch.

Just Cause's worst framerates are mostly CPU-bound, so it probably still won't be perfect, but fingers crossed.

Edit @ butchertroll's link:
Wow, that's far better improvement than I imagined considering how bad JC was before. I couldn't even see any stutter.

If you have a solid state drive do not defrag. It won't help, it will cause your drive to die considerably faster.
