Why are you so bitter about Japanese studios returning to mainstream though? YOU don't like them, obviously enough, but you don't seem to think anyone else should be happy about it either.

I can think of at least two Japanese titles that definitely were "huge highlights" of 2016, whether you agree or not: Dark Souls III and Final Fantasy XV. Both sold as fast as any game could expect, and seemed to have plenty of players fo...

For now. I'm waiting for the inevitable backlash from feminists who have never even heard of this series. Nobody tell them squat.

Dragon Quest XI: Pafu Pafu Never Die

Meant as reply to CrystalFantasy

Cloud needs Tifa to rescue him during his coma, Squall gets tortured in prison until Rinoa and Irvine break in, Hope starts the game way more helpless and whiney than any girl in the series.

Vanille is the most scared character in FFXIII, but she pushes the party forward with believable optimism and fake ditzy behavior. Fang treats her like a helpless little sister, but it is largely Vanille who saved the party in the end....

Lightning could have been a tranny and the feminists would still try to use it for their nonsensical agenda.

[OLD SPOILERS]
Having not played FFI, II, III, or V, I can still say that

Rydia, Porom, Terra, Celes, Tifa, Aerith, Yuffie, Rinoa, Selphie, Quistis, Dagger, Freya, Quina (?), Eiko, Beatrix, Yuna, Lulu, Rikku, Ashe, Fran, Lightning, Vanille, and Fang are all well-made characters.

You mention guys acting diversely, but Yuffie is delusional and funny, Rinoa (secretly) becomes Ultimecia, Porom is a little girl who sacrifices herself for the party, Te...

But Rinoa becomes a sick as hell villain post-game.

FF8, FF9, FF Tictacs, MGS, Twisted Metal series, tLoD, best versions of Tomb Raider series, Crash Bandicoot series, Spyro trilogy, all of the early Resident Evil games that were otherwise split to N64 or Saturn, the blessed GOLDEN AGE of JRPGs, Legacy of Kain...

I could continue, but I think it is obvious that no console should have to withstand the sudden onslaught that the PlayStation delivered to the competition. The Wii's casual base is the main thing that pushed i...

NES was still being made until 1995 in North America, and 2003 in Japan. It was still available at retailers in Japan until 2008.

You come back when you beat the last chapters of Uncharted 4 on Crushing and then tell me how easy you think it is, punk. Ridiculously tough.

I love your list, those games are close to my heart, but I would personally change a few for my own list.

Persona 4 really is very very good, but I'd replace it with P3FES, as I thought it was more difficult, engaging, and intriguing than 4, even though P4 improved on some much needed areas like combat AI and pacing.

I'm not sure I would say FF9 over some of the others, but then again any of the Final Fantasy series from that era had similar quali...

That's not true at all, Pro has two modes for XV, lite and heavy, heavy mode has poor frame pacing (which could still get patched out of every version) and 4K, while lite is 1080p with little to no frame pacing issues, and an eventual patch in December for 60fps.

On Xbox, you get mostly solid 30fps, just like every other version, but without the frame pacing issues of ps4 and heavy pro mode. However in combat, there are actual frame RATE drops during combat accompanied ...

I disagree. Now, I've always supported Nintendo and always will, but I'm not going to sit here and ignore facts. With the majority of Nintendo's innovations being increasingly less popular over the course of years or entire gens, you can start to call most of these innovations gimmicks.

Good:
classic NES controller
4 button standard
rumble

Bad:
M-controller
touch screens requiring a stylus

Murder is a real life law in (what I assume is) most places. Still isn't "too far" imo.

Stealing, trespassing, impersonation, animal abuse, property damage, vandalism, etc.
Too far seems to be mostly sexual in nature for most people, but I'm cool with it. It's not real, right?

Unless you meant the game itself breaks the law with its content, but I've never heard of that happening outside of gore or drug restrictions (l...

I think you can still get trophies on your original save if you use a new game to run mods and disable mods when using your old save. At least until you get that platinum and can safely run mods on your primary save.

The biggest secret in Skyrim's game lore is that the Thalmor are nearing a centuries-old quest to cause Nirn to unravel from existence. The High Elves believe that this will regain their long lost immortality, and if it destroys the races of Man and lesser Mer, all the better.

There are 8 "towers" in Tamriel, which hold existence together, and are older than the races of Man and likely Mer as well. The Thalmor are dedicated to toppling these last remaining t...
