The day AAA games die, is the day consoles die, and that is not going to happen anytime soon. SSM cancelled a game just like any other developer does. Doesn't mean anything and definitely doesn't mean that AAA games are dying.
I'm interested in the "unexpected" part. Hopefully is not a cheap shot.
The only thing that stops the PS4 from being great is the UI and features. They need to bring back almost every feature the PS3 had, and implement the ones announced at the reveal. They need to make FW so that the UI is much more customizable.
Hopefully all that will come sooner rather than later, but they must return, specially media features.
So that's why the PS4 isn't great YET.
For me it doesn't matter because I never notice the difference. Unless it's something like how youtube videos look at 360p in comparison to 720p, I never notice it. So its meaningless for me.
The same goes for frames per second. Never notice it at all
I hope they make the worlds bigger and more lively. That would make the games even better, because having a world empty in a game like that sucks.
How? It's just a plastic shell for the Remote.... It's silly, and it's not free, so that makes it not worth it.
The PS4 will never get to 150 million sold if it doesn't have the overwhelming support of third parties that the PS2 had. Most of the games from third parties were exclusive to the PS2, and games such as RE4 couldn't stay exclusive to the gamecube because of the great success the PS2 was having, again, due to the great third party support.
This time, there is no way the PS4 will have that kind of support. The Xbox One should be selling Wii U numbers or worse to make t...
Dude, do you even know how many IPs get canned before ever getting revealed? The only difference here is that we knew they were woking on a new IP, but after all, every studio is working on something and possibly new IPs.
Also, it's better to have a new IP cancelled (which we don't even know how far along was it) than having great games passed because they don't fit "Xbox style". Yes, I am talking about RIME.
How is this different that the one included in Mario Kart Wii?
Mirror's Edge is missing!
I love GOW too, but if they announce another one, it will be an epic fail from Sony and SSM. They NEED to work on something else, and GOW is over. I don't see how they can make more of them (story wise).
He was the director of GOW 3, so that must mean that this is the game that was cancelled.
Didn't EA already confirmed that they made the decision based on how they thought the Xbox One would sell? They should be regretting it by now.
Also, why would they do that when they already saw how the PS3 wasn't as successful as the PS2 and the Wii U wasn't as successful as the WIi. They already had TWO examples of how selling great one generation, does not mean at all that it will repeat again.
Well, the RPG genre has been "lacking" because last gen Japan wanted to westernize everything. They couldn't adapt to the changing times and the HD era as quickly. This time around will be different. The PS4 is getting a lot of support, and the console is much easier to develop for. I really believe that this time there will be more AAA RPGs like in the PS2 era. Even Final Fantasy XV seems to be going in the right direction.
After having Uncharted 2 and TLOU winning countless awards, I think that they have earned their independence in decision making. They definitely don't need anyone what to do.
The only console that is selling poorly is the Wii U. The Xbox One is selling just fine; it's just that the PS4 is selling incredibly well. I believe that the Xbox and PS4 will be very close in overall sales at the end. It's still far away, but price cuts will happen, announcements will happen and games will happen. Nothing is written in stone.
It will be very impressive if the PS4 sells as much as the PS2 at the end of its life. The Xbox One is going to struggle, bu...
I want to be able to sort the tiles wherever I want instead of by "recent" use. And I want to be able to sort the way I want (by name, type, etc) everything in the library (and using folders too). With just that, I would be very happy.
The difference of power will be noticeable when they start making PS4 games that takes advantage of the console. With cross generational games, they will look better on PS4, but they will never be as impressive as what's to come in a couple years.
It shouldn't, but sadly, we're in a time where if something is successful, it must be milked.
However, in this case, Naughty Dog likely has the freedom to decide if there's going to be a sequel or not without having Sony pressure them. So it's probably going to be up to them and not Sony.
Well, if the future of gaming is $1 mobile games, then that's the day I quit gaming forever.
