It wouldn't surprise me if they end it much sooner than expected. They know they need third parties to be successful. The DS and 3DS are because of that.
They really made a mistake by going for the lower specs again. They had the money to invest in a much powerful console, and even if someone argues that specs are not everything, to be supported by third parties for multi platforms, it is.
Until Microsoft made a big check, that is.
Add: However, I think that worldwide sales of the Xbox and sales of the game for Xbox, will determine the exclusivity for Kingdom Hearts 3.
Seeing how greedy (and backstabbers) Square Enix are, if the Xbox doesn't sell well in Japan and worldwide, they could cancel Kingdom Hearts 3 for Xbox. The fact that FF XV is coming to Xbox had to do with money from Microsoft. There is no way that Sony didn't want to o...
Since when the resolution became more important than polygon count?
Obviously, it's really great to see a game in very high definition, but when it comes to games, I think it's more important to have more polygons, better textures, etc. Graphics have been improving since PS1 and have become more realistic and allowed for more artistic designs.
The best thing would be to have both great resolution and realistic graphics, but if they tell me that I can...
There will be THAT game that rises the bar very high this generation. Whether it will be impressive looking, or will have innovative gameplay, but at some point it will awe us all. And then, everyone will try to copy it.
I beat him at level 100 so I just spammed him and was defeated in less that 3 minutes.
It would be better if they start working on something else. With the release of Gaikai service, everyone will be able to play PS3 on the PS4, so why waste time an resources?
Naughty Dog know how to do great games, so let the continue with that tradition.
I remember I read and article here about that. Ubisoft was getting rid of U-play in future titles, but not released ones. If I'm not wrong, then it means that The Division will not have it.
The Xbox OS is definitely not complete and it was rushed, so I would expect to improve a lot in the coming months. Hopefully the improvements are for making it easier and more intuitive.
At least you can still get access to everything else for free. Having to pay for Live Gold to access Netflix on the Xbox is infuriating for me.
What the author is not considering is that cloud computer could be done in the PS4 too. While the Cell Processor was PS3 wild card (although utilized late in the generation), cloud computing (if ever done as Microsoft is saying) is something that both consoles can do. Sony has Gaikai, and while right now they are only intend to use it as a way to play classic games, that can change in the future as technology advances. There is no advantage for Xbox One even with the cloud. It could have an e...
forget first year! It has only completed its first MONTH!
This is pathetic
Just like how Nintendo had to lower the 3DS price only 9 months after launch, expect Microsoft to do the same if/when the sales numbers are disappointing to them. I don't expect them to lower the price below $400, but they will remove Kinect if they have to.
If they do though, just wait to read in a press release and interviews, how they listen to their fans and that they removed it because gamers wanted another option and how they are great at doing what their fans want...
Yeah, there are a lot of people in ebay that are hunting for PS4 and Xbox One just to resell them at a much higher price. I actually know one of them personally.
I still don't think people will go to a store and say, "well, there's no PS4 so I'll buy the Xbox One instead" if they are not interested in the Xbox One in the first place. The only scenario I could think of that it might happen is if a kid's dad tells him that either takes one of them, or...
The assumption that people will buy an Xbox because there is not PS4 in stock is wrong. That's not how it works. It might be possible that someone wants both but can't afford them so buys the first one available, but that is a minority.
People will buy what they want and will wait for it. Also, since the Xbox One is more expensive, it's not likely that someone would just spend $100 more instead of waiting few days or weeks.
I think it would be great if they start selling both modes separately if you don't want either of them.
Depending on which is dominant, they could sell the dominant mode at $40 and the other mode at $20. Or if you want both $60. It would be good value.
I usually almost never play multiplayer, so it would be great for me, and I know a lot of people that don't even touch single player, so for them too.
The changes made to gameplay in Uncharted 3 were for the worse. They even messed with the aiming and that had to change later with a patch. Like the article said, the enemies were ridiculous in the 3rd game. You needed to fire 100 bullets to kill an anomy, and they were millions (exaggerating) of enemies. I'm all for having waves of enemies, but in the third game they went overboard.
Also, they put a lot of emphasis on the melee, and that ruined the game a lot. Enemies w...
I agree. I just finished the Walking Dead Season 1 yesterday and for me that's not a game. The story was good, but it's just a point and click interactive movie, more like the "games" from CDI back then.
I have the same issues with Heavy Rain and Beyond Two Souls. They have a good story, but I think that most of the story could still be done with traditional controls and gameplay.
With that said, at least is good that there is some variety i...
I really wish Mario Kart would rip that game off. Since there is no way for a sequel, Mario Kart should have planes and boats, and not that underwater racing and air sliding.
At least Mario Kart 8 is going to be a little bit different with the anti gravity mechanic, but it would be awesome to have a reincarnation of Diddy Kong Racing.. The game as really much better than Mario Kart 64.
I think Sony is playing it smart. They want to avoid a game drought after Christmas, and that's why they haven't announced many games. They knew the hype for the PS4 itself was enough to get through launch and buy themselves more time to work on the games.
There are going to be a lot of announcements at GDC and E3 for 2014 and 2015. It will be great! (Unless Sony by some reason focuses more on indies or indie-like games, but it's not likely)
I'm glad you need to pair a DS3 (or DS4 too?) to play the games on any device, so there won't be any compatibility issues.
I will buy a new TV by the end of this year or beginning next year, so hopefully PS Now is already available in Bravias.
