The only change I can see is that the grey boxes have been added. The grey boxes just look tired and clash with the otherwise slick lick of the XMB.

They should have made them look like glass so that the colour of the background comes through.

It often feels like they have different development teams designing the different aspects of the XMB. The store does not look seamless when moving from the XMB, friends list stand out like a sore thumb and the new "What...

Can't find the theme on PSN :(

Easily some of the worst water effects I have seen in a long time and certainly not something you'd expect on a 360/PS3.

At some points you can shoot point blank into the water with a shotgun and nothing at all!

...would be great but there are so many variants I wonder which ones it would support.

As for turning the PSP into a PDA (i.e. notes, copy/paste, etc) not really interested in that at all. They should stay focussed on the PSP being the ultimate portable gaming and media device.

...to niche. Breakout clones have never done that well and Shatter is living proof of that. It may have had a major overhaul and is fun for a couple of weeks but its nothing that warrants it being on a "must have" list.

Living in New Zealand (NZ) so many gamers were talking this game up because they felt they had to as the game was made in NZ. For me, its a solid title that has no staying power.

...should be on the list but not Warhawk.

Warhawk had its day and although it can be fun I dare say on-line numbers have dwindled significantly over the past 12 months in favor of other multiplayer games. Battlefield 1943 being a good example of this.

Already ordered my PS3 slim, looking forward to getting it and getting back into some great gaming.

Bioware are to the 360 what Naughty Dog are to the PS3 and both make graphic whores out of all of us.

...does not even look close to being a $150 game which is what they are going to charge for it in New Zealand.

It looks like COD4.5.

Initially I thought the new slim was just plain ugly but its definitely growing on me. This will be my second PS3 as I gave my 40GB model to my son.

...was a mistake in my opinion. Developers have to work around the lowest common denominator which in the case of the 360 is the arcade.

Isn't the arcade also the lowest selling 360 SKU?

Ditch the arcade, make the pro the new low end SKU and offer existing arcade owners with an inexpensive means of adding on an HDD. Then, release a couple of must have games that make having an HDD mandatory.

...would have tried for a $299 model. Mind you, if 360 and PS3 had an identical price it may lead to consumers actually comparing features which like it or not comes out in PS3s favor, only because of Blu-Ray and built in WiFi.

To be honest I think the big winner out of 360 and PS3 this Xmas will be the one with the strongest game line up.

See if you can use the PlayTV where you live. We're supposed to be getting it in NZ end of this year.

PlayTV turns your PS3 into a HDD recorder for the free to air digital service.

...not on my list of features that I'm waiting for so can't share in the joy for that one. In fact, nothing I have heard about the upcoming 3.0 has my interest as yet as it all seems cosmetic.

Two (small) things I am hoping for:
- better external drive support.
- faster xmb response times when playing a game.

One of the best shoot-em-up franchises on the PSOne coming to the PSP I can't wait!

More PSP games like this please as no second analog required!

Its a waste of time debating which is more accomplished from any point of view until both have been released. And even then if you own a 360 you wont buy GT5 and vice versa.

...then why is the Wii doing so well?

Most of their games support a gimmick which fails to deliver much gaming depth.

Can't wait to play against my son on-line. However, will soon take it off him if he kicks my butt!

...like I was playing against an intelligent enemy.

The battles were almost epic in nature in terms of visuals and audio but the enemy just didn't seem that smart.

The final showdown was my biggest disappointment and resulted in me not actually completing the game. Maybe they needed a Hitler type ending where the evil dictator commits suicide rather than be taken alive or killed by his enemy.
