...won't attract lots of new gamers to the PSP, especially with the announced launch price. I'm guessing initial sales will be mainly existing PSP owners upgrading.

To be honest, the PSP Go seems two years too late. It won't do much, if anything, to stop the momentum of the ITouch/IPhone.

...and the salesperson said they had none in stock and that Sony was not taking any more orders for the 80GB model.

This story seems to be being repeated all across New Zealand. Read what you might into that but all indications are either a new price or SKU (or both) being announced in the very near future.

...which will be almost broken by an inept multiplayer lobby system.

B:BC and B:1943 featured pretty crap lobby systems resulting in being placed in games with lag, games that were almost over when you joined and returning to the same game once you have quit!

I wish Sony would impose a minimum functional requirement that all on-line multiplayer games have to feature. For instance, being able to search for locally hosted games or being able to see what your connectio...

...the PSP Go still does not have that "got to have it" feel about it. Put a PSP Go and an ITouch or IPhone in a display case next to each other and the Apple product will win for style and desirability.

When my PSP-3000 packs in or I tire of it I will probably go Apple and not to the PSP Go. Especially when you look at the potential price of the PSP Go in New Zealand.

...as long as they don't gimp it in the gameplay dept. like they did with GTAIV.

Newcomers to the GTA franchise probably loved GTAIV but for seasoned GTA players it was a step back from SA and showed just how stale the older style gameplay was.

Personally I want a more interactive and reactive environment. An overhaul to the graphics engine would also be nice as it certainly didn't feel like it was pushing the 360 or PS3.

GT PSP will probably be the most pirated game on PSP before you know it. Its a shame as it looks like one hell of a portable driving game.

...and it pains me to say I'll be passing on this one.

EA have said no to putting in servers for Australia and New Zealand. I see no point buying a game when you know there is no chance of playing multiplayer without lag.

If they expect someone in NZ to pay full price for the game, then they should damn well provide the same level of support for NZ as they do the rest of the world.

...is never. Its still playable at times but the lag ruins the experience more often that not.

However, I wish they would fix spawning. I hate getting killed as enemy players spawn in right behind you when you're capturing their base and your flag is already being raised.

Had a K/D ratio of over 4 but got sick of the broken lobby system which would place me in games being hosted around the other side of the world.

Lag is a bigger game killer.

None of those shots are from in-game. In-game shots have the strip at the bottom which shows speed, gear, etc. In game shots also suffer from a severe case of the jaggies as the PSP does not really have any real-time AA.

If you think that GT on the PSP will look as good as the shots you're defending whilst playing the game then you're just fooling yourself.

...$30 in New Zealand for this game. That is far too much for this game given so few people in this neck of the woods will buy it making on-line play a lag fest....again.

...needed further thinking. Plug in a pair of headphones and the Go won't just slip into your pocket nicely. Not like other portable devices like the IPod which place the headphone socket at one end of the device.

Not sure where they could have placed it but its also one of my gripes about existing PSP models.

...were already expensive ($120 in New Zealand). However, until I read a review which looks at the lobby system for on-line play I won't be buying. The lobby for COD4 broke the game in my opinion as you could not search for locally hosted games. When you live in New Zealand and Australia such a feature makes a big difference.

...released a variation on the current IPhone or ITouch that had a slidable screen (like the PSP Go) that revealed physical controls (maybe with 2 analogs) then the PSP would die a quick death and those with a DS would at some stage mature into going "Apple".

Software alone will not save the PSP but it certainly won't hurt having more great games.

...its the same with any on-line service where you can buy digital objects, i.e. Home, Second Life, etc. I simply cannot understand why people buy objects that only exist on the screen and only enhance the cosmetic aspect of the software. Spending real money on virtual objects....crazy!!! Those doing the selling must be laughing all the way to the bank.

...to release Shatter when K2 has a new pack along with Wipeout HD.

I must say that I'm a little annoyed at the cost of the bundled map pack. It works out at almost half the cost of buying the two earlier map packs separately.

After buying them (separately) I found hardly anyone in this part of the world actually played them which was disappointing as they were easily some of the best multiplayer maps around.

Mind you, I gave up K2 recently in favor o...
