The new COD4 map pack in New Zealand is $18.90 - twice the price as it is in the United States. A big F**k you to Sony NZ and Infinity Ward for assigning a price that doesn't reflect exchange rates or anything other than someone saying "hey, lets just make it twice the price".
At this price I would expect there to be 8 or 10 maps...but 4???

...parents enforce parental control on this one. It looks much more brutal than previous GTA titles. I'm sick of getting on-line and playing adult games like COD4 to hear "kids" at the other end. Also sick and tired of hearing about kids in trouble with the law saying they got the idea from GTA.

However, they need to start drumming up some hype for this game as lets face it, GTAIV is totally making this game a non-purchase for me.
HAZE needed to come out last year before COD4 to get any sort of momentum. Releasing it now with "last year graphics" means it will probably do sales on par with Turok. Not all that great when you consider how long this game has been in development.
Other PS3 patches and enhancements, I estimate that they will release a patch for this sometime in May...2010.
...I put spawn killing right up there with cheating also. Can't stand it when a team has cornered the other team into a section of the map and then they basically sit there and spawn kill for 3 minutes to win the game.
FYI - I was on the team that was spawn killing. Was me and 5 others who were all at max rank/prestige (I'm nowhere near max prestige as yet). It annoyed me to watch what was going on as I personally hate intentional spawn killing on mass. I quit and complaine...
...PS3 version. Pure and simply because the on-line play is free. However, I won't buy either version if there are too many framerate drops or other graphical glitches.
Its going to be free and its not like we cannot enjoy some premium gaming in the upcoming months without it. I tell you, once I get hooked on a game something like Home won't even be something I venture into all that often unless it provides a real benefit to the game.
...PSN store is great - its just a pitty the icons, etc take so long to download each time you access the store. Also kind of sucks the way they have a slightly tweaked options menu for Europe/Australia/New Zealand.
Overall I think PSN store is better than the interface used on the Xbox 360. However, Sony needs lots more content and demos. Cant understand why there are not more demos for the games you can buy on PSN. Mind you, Warhawk would not have sold as many copies if...

As for COD4...worst f**king lobby system ever, sniping is still only for those who don't like to use skill to play, martyrdom perk is pure stupidity. Sure, COD4 is the best of the series but there is still LOTS of room for improvement.

I currently pay $85 p/m for Sky TV in NZ. If I want MySky (i.e. a digital decoder/recorder for the Sky service) I have to pay a $599 joining fee. Then the decoder is not even HD compatible and I can't transfer recorded files off the device.

Since when has a GTA game featured a plot that deep that it will come as a surprise to players. Bascially you're a lowlife who has to do some jawbreaking and killing to climb the ladder of underworld success.
...try living in New Zealand. Xbox Live Video Marketplace still has not hit here yet so I dare say Sony will be 2-3 years away with their on-line video service.
However, I'm really looking forward to PlayTV. That to me is a big win item for Sony.
...and also shows that the main characters head can pass through metal. I would also wait until you see the physics engine in motion before you get too excited. Plowing a big rig into a sedan usually results in much more significant damage.
Also, be nice to see a seatbelt option so you could pull off some crazier stunts...

I must admit, I love the GTA games but have never gotten through any of them. My interest goes completely because of missions that are nothing but street races. Not only is car handling too arcady to make street racing fun (for me anyway) but such missions don't sit well with me. I dont recall hearing about up and coming mobsters ever getting into a street race...

...that when the host quit I was returned to the lobby with remaining players. Has this been fixed in 1.30????
Mind you, the game still quits automatically if by the time the game starts connection has not been fully established with all players.
