..no amount of sticky tape or band aids can fix the COD4 lobby system as it is and always will be a smelly dogs turd. Why in hell did Infinity Ward (IW) not take a page out of the COD3 book or take a look at how other GOOD lobby systems function. Motorstorm, Halo 3, Warhawk all feature what I would consider good to excellent lobby systems. Basically, you get to chose which game you wish to join based on your connection speed to the host. You can even chose to host if you like.

...I hate that you cannot turn on a setting that will ensure adult avatars are not displayed. This site should introduce a setting so when you upload your avatar that you indicate if it contains x-rated images. That way I can turn on a setting that won't display such images.
...the console versions of COD4 have one of the worst lobby systems of any next-gen game. Halo 3 and Warhawk are examples of how a good lobby system should work. COD4's lobby is not even as good as what was offered with COD3.
I hate joining games and finding my connection is 1 red bar. Results in me quitting to go find another game and on doing so end right back up in the same game (my record for quitting and joining the same game is 16!). I don't give a damn about the win/...
...and regret it completely.
First off, I did not notice the fine print that said only my PSN could play the game. If other members of my family wish to play it on my PS3 using their PSN they have to buy it again!?! Because we share my copy I can't be bothered playing it as my stats become all skewed.
I'm also not that fussed on the game. Sure flying around is fun but its nowhere near as good as the hype would have you believe. The graphics certainly look ver...
...is that compared to the lobby system for COD4 on the PC, the console version lobby sucks big hairy dogs balls.

Other than that, I would like to see destructible/reactive/living environments.
...they could do for the game is improve the crappy lobby system on the console versions. I hate continuously being connected to games where my connection to the host yields 1 red bar. I have lost over 800 games just by quitting where my connection is crap.
Oh yes, my record for quitting the same game stands at 16! Thats right, I didn't even play 1 second but lost it 16 times. Whoever coded the lobby system for COD4 needs a good ass kicking.
However, at least...
1. Improve the sub-standard lobby system so you can chose which game you join based on settings you specify - especially around connection to host. I hate ending up in games where my connection is 1 red bar!?!
2. Not joining the same game after you have quit for whatever reason. My record is 16 returns to the same game!!!!!
3. Should not count it as a loss if you don't play at least 30 seconds of the game you have joined. This is especially annoying when yo...
...versions of COD4. Whilst playing the games you won't notice any differences at all. If you're anal retentive enough to want to get to the same spot and hit pause so you can examine things in detail then good luck to you. Me, when you're in the middle of an intense on-line firefight I couldn't give a rats ass about subtle differences in textures or lighting...I just enjoy the game!
The lack of in-game XMB on the PS3 version is its only weakness.
1. The lobby system for COD4 is by far one of the worst lobby systems for any next-gen title. I want to be able to see what games I could join and what my connection would be like before I join. COD3 provided a more advanced lobby system. Halo 3 provides a prime example as to how a next-gen lobby system should work.
Worst aspect of the lobby system is how you can quit a game and keep ending back in the same game when trying to join a new one. My record is 9 returns to the s...
...the more I want it. This is going to dominate the use of my PS3 when it comes out as it will be a true family gaming experience. I'm going to set challenges for my children to come up with the ultimate levels!
...sized images from a cut-scene or from actual gameplay? I know you can adjust the camera position in the game but they are really stupid angles to be playing the game from. Which is why I asked if they are actually from in-game.
...what are your thoughts on the cost cutting measures that Sony used with the new DS controller for the PS3? The plastic casing feels cheaper, there is no rubber on the D-Pad buttons - its now just textured plastic finish.
If you pick up a DS2 it feels much better than the DS for the PS3.
...is a complete overhaul. It needs replays, time-trials (i.e. practice) and qualifying modes. A better league system and customisation options.
Oh, being able to skip crash sequences would be great also.
..is just a little on the light side and certainly has a much cheaper feel than the its predecessor. I thought I would miss rumble but to be honest not having it prolongs the life of the PS3 controller between charges so its a trade off I can accept for now. I simply hate the textured plastic finish on the top of the D-Pad buttons - what happened to the rubber finish the DS2 controller had??? Oh yes, who cares about motion sensitive controls - does anyone actually use them if they have a c...
I tried Halo 3 and just could not get into the "Halo" physics. I prefer the much more realistic COD4 physics and weapons.
However, COD4 has probably one of the worst lobby systems I have seen from a next-gen multiplayer enabled game. If you put a Halo 3 like lobby on COD4 then you would have gaming perfection.
...ok, so the 360 has better gfx than on the PS3 but the game sux big hairy dogs balls on both consoles. What I don't get is why even bother? why not take that x-million dollar investment and pour it into a game that has a chance of actually breaking even.
Maybe they are just using a lackluster franchise to upskill illegal immigrants to become tomorrow's top developers. Or maybe someone made a bet saying they could make a crappier game than Transformers: The Game.
...when buying a gaming pc buy the best you can afford and be prepared to jump on the continual upgrade path to keep it current.
However, the person who wrote this guide should be writing guides for something that comes in any colour as long as its black.
I only picked up a PS3 a few weeks back and have only just started to play Motorstorm. I simply cannot believe the visuals for a 1st gen game on the PS3. It may be weak in some areas but playing this on an HD screen is insane!
What grabbed me first was the fact that there are so many detailed cars and textures on the screen yet there is no slow down. Makes me wonder why DIRT was so below par?!?
...is it a good game? Was kind of hanging out for RFOM2...
