...he does not seem very passionate about gaming. He could have been standing there talking about sales predictions for bottle milk and it would have come across as being just as dry.
...the best looking titles on any console. GOW2 looks set to continue that tradition. However, my biggest complaint with GOW still applies to GOW2...last gen-AI and gameplay. Refer my earlier comment to see what I mean.
....looks real nice but yet another railgun shooter level. You stuck on the back of a truck shooting. The level will play out the exact same way if you play it 10 times. That is enemies will appear on queue.
When are we going to get some true next gen-AI and gaming. We are getting more and more next-gen visuals but all they do is hide the last gen-gameplay. For instance, if you see your enemy using wheeled transport - take out the f**king road. I mean, COGS are driving to...
...is that the missions just felt the same as previous GTA games. Nothing really blew me away - there was no depth to them and they did not seem realistic what so ever.
Ok, my hat is off to Take Two for deveooping the best sandbox environment yet (i.e. Liberty City) but why could they not have spent just as much effort coming up with some really tight and involving missions.
Oh yes, I would love to see a game based on "I Am Legend" using an enhanced GT...
...COD4 set a new benchmark for on-line gaming however, why did IW package it with such a terrible lobby system?????????
This is how I would rate some aspects of COD4:
----------------------------- -----------------
Single Player Campaign: 7/10
Too short and only a couple of highligts
prevent it from being totally forgettable.
Multiplayer: 9/10
Moments of sheer brilliance that requires
the utmost of skill brought down t...
...was anyone other than me disappointed with the PS3 version of GTAIV?
Ok, its looks good but for a couple of years now we have been told that Cell and Blu-Ray is needed for true next gen gaming. I don't see any benefit of Blu-Ray or the Cell when I play GTAIV on the PS3, especially when the supposedly inferior Xbox 360 looks and plays almost identically.
However, without getting bogged down in a comparisson with the 360 version, is GTAIV the best the PS3 can p...
...that exploit the PSP and not just release cut down versions of PS2 games. Ok, God of War on the PSP was sublime but where is the must-have flagship exclusive like a Nintendogs that does not try to push technical bounds but sets a new standard in gaming fun and addictiveness.
...I am disappointed at how the PS3 version of GTAIV tuned out. Sure it looks good but for the past 2 years we have been fed just how important the Cell and Blu-Ray is for gaming. Well, what benefit did the Cell or Blu-Ray bring to GTAIV for PS3 owners?
Nothing at all other than to make a game that could almost match the supposedly inferior Xbox 360.
However, I do wonder what GTAIV might have looked like if it had been designed from the ground up exclusively ...
...there was a chance for consumers to destroy EA this would be it. Basically, don't buy the next GTA titles and make their take over of Take Two a real waste of money.
Mind you, EA still make a killing as there are still too many people willing to part with their hard earned cash on sub-standard games.
...is as good as it gets on the PS3 for this type of game then I am utterly disappointed. Given all the power the PS3 is supposed to pack I was actually hoping to see a real big difference between the PS3 and 360 versions of the game.
Sure the game looks good and is a hell of a lot of fun to play, but blue-Ray has resulted in no added benefit for the game nor has all the hype surrounding the cell. So again, is this the best the PS3 can do???
As for on-line mu...
...COD3 was actually an improvement over COD2 its just that the WWII theme was getting tired. However, if COD5 can bring the feel of COD4 into a WWII setting and actually come up with a good single story mode then I for one will give it a good hard look.
COD4 has set a benchmark for on-line gaming that is going to be hard to beat however, its single player campaign felt rather flat even though it had some genuine highlights. Lets give COD5 a chance as a single player game bef...
...it being short is one thing but it's nothing but a pointless rant from some guy who's obvisouly getting a hard on over the game.
...I have played both and can clearly see that GT5:P is all about simulator realism where as GRID is all about arcade style visuals. Big crashes, lots of smoke, noise. GRID looks and feels like an arcade racer all the way.
GRID does not hold a rock steady framerate (yet), on a native 720p display there are still jaggies and I wish someone would improve environment reflection in cars. Trees look a lot better in GRID than they do in GT5:P and GRID's partical effects are some o...
This is an arcade racer not a simulator. I really enjoyed DIRT and if it had not been for the weak physics it would have been the best arcade rally game I'd ever played. That honor still goes to Rallisport Challenge 2 on the original Xbox.
I have played GT5P and whilst it looks good and handles great, I still love solid arcade racers for pure quick fire fun and enjoyment. So if the reviews are good then GRID is a day 1 purchase for me.
Oh yes, whilst talking ...
...the low res texture on the concrete block was all down to a crappy video.
...is a pile of marketing bollocks. I don't doubt Sony won't deliver on the full potential of the PS3 EyeToy however, most the people in that video are not even looking at the screen/eye-toy when interacting with the CGI objects/characters. Talk about a pre-scripted video of vaporware at the time...
...the concrete block he took cover behind could do with a resolution boost.
...is there pricing model. There gadgets are far too expensive in most cases for whet you get. Sure they are nice and look the part but they are not terribly good value for money.
To compete with the PSP and DS they either have to find a whole new market of mobile gamers or offer existing mobile gamers something they cant already get on their less expensive devices.
...if it will mean a possible redesign in form factor as well, kind of like what siny did with their slimline PS2.
I think any change that brings down the failure rate is a welcome one however, I am now firmly entrenched on the PS3 bandwagon due to it already being whisper quiet, more reliable and free to play on-line.
My 360 has been gathering dust as I now only use it to play some of the XBLA games. This would have been a different story mind if COD4 had not b...
I'm saying that the AI needs to be at a level where the locust would learn from their mistakes so that the next time through they change their plan of attack. Hell, most of today's supposed next-gen games still have AI that mimicks the allied attack plan during world war 1.
That is, if it didn't work the same way first 8 times then the 9th time must surely be a winner.
