I have to disagree with you on the first part of your thought, and sort of agree with you on the latter. Some Indie titles were pretty cool, the one that comes to mind are the telltale games. (would those classify as indie??) They are cool episodic games that are pretty much a must-have. Oh and State of Decay, that game was amazing, although the dev deceived the consumer on what to expect content wise.
The thing that's ruining gaming is the appeal to the casual gamer. G...
how did you come to that conclusion?
360 has the higher install base, and some people would rather get it on that console. It's hard to believe that people like what they like or that not everyone has the money to upgrade to a new console?
I'm sure they'll have a fun experience though.
To be fair @Zod, CDPR raised the bar on RPGs way before this. I didn't get a chance to play the first Witcher game, but the second one was a masterpiece.
like Infamous SS. No knock on it but that's exactly what Infamous was.
We have yet to see next gen games be anything more than a graphics leap. While I enjoy both Titanfall and Infamous, I agree with the article that they are mediocre efforts. Parkour in a shooter isn't new, neither are mechs. Infamous seems lifeless, it's nothing jaw dropping except visually.
Don't get me wrong though, both games I enjoy but they aren't really pushing the envelope like we expected for these new consoles.
Granted this generation...
Maybe it's me but the disparity only seems to be graphical in nature. Is the gameplay different at all? No, beyond console specific content.
When X1 games begin doing 1080p on a regular basis what will be the issue then? We get it the price doesn't seem to suggest better. People want to get the bang for their buck and that's with everything they purchase. But the PS4 extremists make it seem like it's impossible for the X1 to have a multi-plat game that looks ...
TLOU was a pretty great game. The best game I've played in years honestly. It's the story that really drives the love of it. Most games as of late may have great gameplay but a horrible script, while others have a great script but horrible gameplay. So for a game to put forth both so masterfully, I can why people find it to be a great experience.
Maybe casual is the wrong word? But they definitely don't appeal to a wide range of people like a triple A release. I highly doubt somebody dropped 400+ bucks to play those games.
I have to preface this comment by saying I love my Xbox One, however, they win by default when it comes to launch titles. There wasn't anything outstanding on either console.
Ryse, is a gorgeous game but the gameplay itself is horrible.
Dead Rising 3, bugs and framerate drops. Still a good looking game though but even to this day has framerate problems.
Killer Instinct, decent game but the fact that most of it's content is locked un...
wait Thief will be 50% off when it just came out? Wow I should've waited but oh well.
I don't mind campers, it's just annoying when you get killed because someone is sitting in the corner as you enter a room lol.
It's hard to camp in titanfall, especially with the radar ping allowing you to see through walls, and the various ways to get into a building or room.
Easy kills
The next big release will be in May with Watch Dogs.
Has Metal gear ever been a big game on the XBOX platform? It's always had a bigger Playstation base.
Don't get me wrong Soul, if it was just the story from beginning to end then I like the story of revolting against oppression. But it's watered down with mundane tasks that only fluff the game length.
If you only focused on the main story it's easily a 5-6 hour game.

I need a break from Assassin's Creed games. The parkour elements seems to be getting some new mechanics, but that's not enough to get me interested this year. I hope next year they flush out what happened in present day immediately after Desmond's death as well as have the main story in an asian setting.
Yeah I just finished the evil path earlier this morning and it left me feeling like something was missing. If we are honest about this game, the main story is what about 6 hours? Honestly running around taking out DUP influenced distracts is just meh. I stopped with about 5 districts left.
The whole game is essentially chase this person, hey wait I just want your powers. Prank call the same DUP agent, boss battle, and that's it.
I plan on doing the good ...
Yeah the website isn't functioning properly. I wonder if you actually get the paper powers.
Paying for XBOX Live isn't an issue, sure I'd rather it be free but the quality of their services is second to none. With increased and improved infrastructure of the XBOX 1, how can anyone not see the benefits that have come? Sucks that everything is behind a paywall though.
But what Konami did was just outrageous, there's no benefit to charging for a glorified demo outside of adding more money to their company.
My brother picked this "game...
@OP
1. Both consoles can add extra space for their hard-drive. One is internal the other external.
2. PS+ is better than Xbox Live? That's a matter of opinion. My opinion is that I'd rather actually own the games so when I don't have xbox live I can still play them, whereas with PS+ you're SOL. I prefer XBL
3.PS4 a better design? Again an opinion.
4.Better exclusives? Again an opinion. However, I did enjoy In...
