"We wanted to put all our resources towards making the best game we possibly can for the next generation of consoles, as opposed to splitting our focus and possibly seeing both products suffer as a result."
exactly what's happening with multi-gen releases. the games are suffering because the focus has been split.
@Destranoa, so you mention 2 PS4 exclusive games to say there's no contest with the Xbox One? The argument is about multiplat releases.
From all the videos released on the multiplats, the 50% raw power advantage of the PS4 is BARELY noticeable.
But alas, enjoy your console :)
It's flawed logic to say a console is crappy when 1. you don't have it and 2. you're not planning on getting one. So you're going off someone else's opinion rather than your own.
Now a crappy car, there's a carfax for that.
Definitely wouldn't boast considering this is the first time I actually think the singleplayer is infinitely better than the multiplayer.
Somebody dropped the ball big time on this game in my opinion.
@Fishy,
With Next Gen only titles at launch I was definitely expecting 1080p as the norm and a solid frame rate locked in. Think about the exclusives like Killzone, Killer Instinct, Ryse, and Forza. (I don't know about the Indie games launching on PS4)
Only one of those is locked in at 1080p/60fps, and that's a racing game. These devs had devkits how long? Yet still didn't figure out how to work the tech to that level we all were expecting. Give ...
1080p for BOTH PS4 and X1. So much for multi-plats being bogged down by the X1 inferiority...
Is he going off the rumor. I found his quote saying that Respawn has said that titanfall will be at 720p, but nobody else in the public got that memo. So that leads me to believe he's assuming it based on rumor to cover his tracks as to why they are only doing 720p on X1.
He even brings up battlefield 4 as well, seems like he's making an effort to say hey these guys are doing it too just so that IW can save face.
I guess we shall see, at least Titan...
Has titanfall been confirmed at 720p?
He says it's the first crack on new consoles. I can respect that, see ya next year CoD.
@svoulis,
just keep in mind that these are launch titles , and while the PS4 is coming out of the gate as more powerful, we will still have great looking and playing games on the X1.
Both systems have their ups and downs and you can see it in their mainstream launch exclusives: Ryse and Killzone Shadow Fall.
Killzone does 1080p and 60FPS SOMETIMES, 30FPS at other times. Does it mean it will be a horrible experience with the framerate incons...
Speaking from the mindset of a graphic designer, and not a tech specifications buff, when you blow up an image the most you can do is double it's size and it would have some visual hiccups but nothing outrageous.
So the blurriness in the PS4 version would tell me that it's really a lower resolution natively then being led on. The blur effect would be used to cover up the hiccups to some degree.
But again, I speak only from the perspective of a graphi...
ummm duh? who in their right mind could disagree that a native resolution is better than upscaled?
And did I read that right? He said the Wii won this generation? LMBO..get out of here, maybe it's the article writer's perception despite facts to the contrary on that one.
So maybe his perception is that the gaming media is overlooking the gimping of X1 titles?
The wii..lol
I honestly can't put the ENTIRE blame on the lower resolutions upon Microsoft. I think their console is a bit more complicated for the devs, and the initial launch titles are showing that. Even Ryse is native 900p, and that's an exclusive.
However, I also place blame with the devs. They stretched themselves thin by making multi-gen versions of their games, clearly using the next gen consoles as guinea pigs for future iterations. Yet still charging FULL PRICE? It suck...
No need to spin this, I watched the event and not once did I see the backspace. Feel free to watch it on youtube at some point. Much ado about nothing.
@Prince, yes if you get release day delivery the game will be at your home on release day. Granted you'd have to wait around for UPS, but that will beat standing in a crazy line especially during the launch of the new consoles or some big game lol.
Medal of Honor really killed itself, especially the last two entries.
No tears here sir, but this article is silly.
@badboy, those games were awful to me
so sony being a bit devious too huh
