12,300 Pros? Sony supporting scalpers once again just like with the PS4 500 million special edition which I couldn't buy.

They should know that demand will far out strip the amount they're making. So frustrating.

More huge mistakes:

- Kinect 1

- Closing many of their own studios during the second half of the 360 generation, coasting off good will earned previously and third party games

- 2013 DRM

- Forcing people to buy Kinect 2, and increasing the price by $100 as a result

- XBO being weaker than PS4

- Placing Phillip in charge of Xbox

- Canceling Scalebound (while also...

Damn, a new Burnout, don't even bring that up. It hurts just to read those words.

The indie scene is massive theses days, but the big budget scene is mostly trash. I wouldn't mind to see these big publishers suffer or crumble away.

But that can only happen when the casual gamer stops buying yearly roster updates or whatever garbage is marketed to them on TV.

Devs want to find the fun.
Execs want to find the micro-trash-actions (which ruin the fun).

Expect this game to release in a rough, sloppy, beta state, then EA offers a fake apology (written by ChatGPT because no one can be arsed to put in the effort themselves), promising to do better. They reveal a great updates road map, then delay the road map multiple times due to 'complications', 'difficulties', or whatever other random B.S. reason they come u...

Great to hear! When I found out that the online servers were shutting down, I hurriedly played through the game from beginning to Platinum Trophy over the course of 13 days. It was a lot of fun, and I had some good times, but also it was a bit grindy (which is to be expected with these types of games). Playing CO-OP is a blast though, I may just purchase it again.

One thing to note is that the game has a major cliffhanger ending, and Sony Japan Studio was shut down (devs se...

Games are growing exponentially larger with each generation. 4K texture maps are massive file sizes, ever since 3D console we have always needed larger storage capacities, and PS6 will be no different. Keep in mind some PS5 games come on two discs because they are so huge! And Sony has only supported cartridges once with the Vita, they aren't bringing it back.

SD cards are not the same thing as cartridges, SD cards can get corrupted easily and 'die', and become ...

A version with drive would have been $750, and I can see why they didn't want to increase sticker shock even more than they already have. Also logistically speaking it makes sense to create a single SKU for sale, and that's how I see PS6 being sold. Just 1 SKU, and if you want discs, buy the drive separately.

One last reason is online updates. Installing a drive requires an internet connection and being updated to the latest firmware, Sony wants everyone to update ...

It may actually be preferable because you can swap out drives easily.

I've had PS1, PS2, XBX drives die on me. My friend and my Dad both had PS3 drives die on them (both barely used). An easy user-replaceable drive is not a bad thing, and I don't think its the beginning of the end for disc games.

The public backlash against Sony would be far too great. I don't think they would do that, at least not for PS6.

While I agree to an extent, the issue is that "walled-gardens" should employ the "razers and blades" method that's been around for decades now.

Consoles should be sold at a loss or break even point because its software is expensive (and keeps going up while quality is going down) , accessories expensive (and keeps going up), services required to play online (used to be free).

When you buy a console that's when the first party s...

He's so excited to layoff more employees for FAKE STUPIDITY computer programing to replace them.

Hopefully EA takes a nosedive just like Ubisoft is currently doing. Lack of money is the only thing that can hurt them and possibly change them.

Phil has done nothing but destroy the brand over the past 10 years. What a shame, they had enough momentum to actually remain competitive (outside of Asian markets), but chose not to.

Did my part, got my copy.
Even though I was told that the market wouldn't support these types of games, I never believed it.

Now Team Asobi, bring on Ape Escape 4 next.

Indeed, the original Xbox had a digital store all the way back in 2002, so its been 22 years now. It was called Xbox Network. You can read about it here:

Stop supporting subscriptions, make them crumble and fail. Teach all these shitty corporations who's truly interested charge. It should be us, not them!

Sakurai is awesome, and I like how even though he's contracted to work for Nintendo, he still acknowledges and plays games from other companies and platforms.

I believe this gen will be longer, PS5 Pro will extend the gen further, so 8-10 years. Its getting harder for console manufacturers to make a next-gen console, so the longer they wait, the easier it is to source components that are noticeably more powerful at a reasonable price.

If PS5 Pro is $700, then what will a PS6 price be in 4 years? $700 - $800? And will it even have a large jump over the 5 Pro? Or will people call it a "PS5 Pro Pro"?

MS is in a very difficult position. Sony dominates home consoles, Nintendo dominates handhelds. MS is trapped no matter which direct they head in, if they make a portable Xbox, its going to compete with Switch 2 and Steam Deck, they'll get wrecked because Nintendo has brand loyalty, recognizable IPs, and quality games that MS can't compare with.

This is why they're publishing games on PS / NSW, and trying to push game rentals as hard as possible, there's no ...

PS4 Pro released after GTA V's port. This time the hardware releases before the game. Rockstar have had knowledge of the 5 Pro for a minimum of 12 months but likely 20 months, possibly more. They have had time to plan and prepare for it. There are no excuses if they don't support it. There's also the option of a 40 FPS mode which doesn't seem far-fetched.

Mostly likely an unlocked VRR framerate mode which bounces between 30 - 70 FPS depending on what's h...

We've had proof for decades before Concord's release. Stop playing 'junk-food' live service games and this becomes less of an issue.

High quality games with single player offline modes, you own that game on disc, and unless if you lose it, or someone goes into your home and steals it, you do own it.

There is still ownership in this era, but its becoming increasingly rare, and this new concept of online installation requirement, can go stra...
