I need to know more!

I'm just getting into Resistance 2 now and thus far i'm not liking how it's holding my hand through it and telling me which weapons to use [I liked the wheel from the first game]... and on the mission to rescue to Doctor seeing him stand in front of a firefight with the Chimera and take a universe of damage was a bit pap.

A lot prettier though.

Although I think my perspective on being hard on the sequel stems massively from just ho...

Surely the drop in price should also mean those copies on Ebay should go for a similar price.

I picked up the original version of resistance 2, still sealed for less than the platinum rrp and only a couple of quid more than the online price.

I got Batman: Arkham Asylum free.

Bought Resistance: Fall Of Man [just completed], Uncharted [playing now], Resistance 2 [playing now] and have Heavenly Sword to tuck into after that.

With the games I bought I wanted to go back and play the games from the start of the system that looked good, which of course come with a decent price point these days.

It also means that I get to see an evolution in how developers got a handle on the console as well, which...

but I don't think it's helped that many of the exclusive RPGs i've played have been so half arsed. Thinking directly of The Last Remnant, Star Ocean. Games that are *alright*, but hardly awe inspiring.

The jewel in the crown to my mind was the superb Lost Odyssey, but despite the talent involved, it was hardly a *name* that made it a must buy for the Japanese.

If Microsoft really wanted to gun for Japan they would go all out to procure Monster Hunter. At which point ...

Whilst we all want to get value for money, it really is a thrill to actually *finish* a game.

I completed Resistance: Fall Of Man on Saturday after it consumed my week completely and was left smitten with it, a huge sense of pride [both of finishing it and bizarrely patriotically as Blighty beat the Chimera], but the unlock of new weapons and extra stuff next time means i'll definitely have another crack at it.

[after Resistance 2 and the novel I ordered..I have to k...

The sheer blanket advertising campaign here is the most comprehensive i've seen from Sony since the days of the original Playstation.

Strange though if Sony aren't doing this in the States though.
I wonder why?

Nice to see some *gamers* looking forward to playing both games, instead of having the 'mine is better than yours' system sausage fest.

And a ton of great games i've not played before.

Happy days ^-^

Two sides of the argument, each proclaiming 'their' game will be game of the year, when..

[A] Neither side has played said game yet.
[B] Most will only play 'their' game.

If Halo ODST, clearly now *not* the size of an expansion pack [hence the article], is up there challenging for it, then all well and good. That's what we want, cracking games. If it's not for the system you adore then why are you posting here?

If Uncharted 2 bests it, then by the ...

How long did it take him to make all that!

Althoguh, that warthog in the background is rubbish ;)

Major league giggles

In the first game i'd have to say the arrival of The Flood knocked me for six. A real twist in the story that I didn't see coming and it absolutely terrified me.

The final level in the Warthog seemed for all the world like Bungie saying "well done, now here's a level that will plain make you smile".

Add to that the moment you first got in the Scorpion tank. Oh my!

.. the previews this game is getting. Whilst I thought it would be little more than Halo 3 engine, new story it's getting some great comments from those that have played it as to how innovative and fun it is within the franchise.

I'm a big Halo fan and must admit this hadn't been massively on my radar beyond the original videos that emerged, but it's tempting me now as a day 1 purchase.

I just finished up Resistance: Fall Of Man on my new PS3 [which, for the record, ...

Halo, when you're in that mahoosive underground bunker and meet The Flood for the first time. They could come from *anywhere*, behind you, in front, above, to the side and it was so difficult to find somewhere to put your back to a wall and them come at you head on. Loved it to pieces mind [in retrospect], but at the time it freaked the heck out of me.

Likewise the moment in Resident Evil 2 when you were on this tiny little lift going down for aaaages, and the transformed William...

You know i'd been circling trying to find the best games bundle and HMV [free Far Cry 2, Quantum Of Solace or Assassins Creed.. meh] and Argos [free Call Of Duty 5.. meh] were seemingly the one places offering anything.

On Sunday morning I was bombing around online trying to find out about those who has received their systems via mail order early and in the processsaw a few cool online deals, except - I didn't want to order online in case something was wrong. I'd rather take it b...

An RPG classics collection containing the games you mentioned would be fabulous.

Perhaps Final Fantasy 7, 8 & 9 in one release.

Xenogears [which was never released here], Parasite Eve 1 & 2 in another other?

Ico & Shadow Of The Colossus to whet the appetite for the third game would be a fabulous move.

Perhaps not a big enough 'hit' first time around, but for reputation of the games and the sheer quality alone ... Persona 3 & 4.

Thankfully Gamestation are opening at 8am and i'm locked on with a pre-order and a great bundle.
