Mike..
HMV has the exclusive on the *collectors edition*, which on 360 & PS3 only .. and adds the soundtrack, a lithograph and the rather spiffy looking plasma cutter prop.
Play.Com has an exclusive PS3 collectors edition, with the lithograph, soundtrack et al - and yeps, the Extraction extra as per the ltd - but without the plasma cutter prop. :/
I went out of my mind trying to find this stuff out.
Did my nut in! ^-^
I've just finished the first game on PS3 and absolutely adored it.
Played the demo for the new game this afternoon and i'm gobsmacked. It looks stunning!
Maybe it's just here in blighty, but I've found EA's choices with the collectors editions really strange. I really want the plasma cutter prop, but it's only available with the 360/PC versions. :/
I was planning on DS2 on PS3, then picking up Move to play Extraction. ...
I plumped for the PS3 version of Bioshock purely because it had an extra bit at the end over the 360 version and it ran surperbly.
Hence I stuck with PS3 for the sequel and it was gorg.
Has anyone who's already played the game tracked down any of the old horror movies York chats about in the car?
It looks stupendously bizarre .. and for £15-odd [Zavvi], I can't really complain!
Once i've finished Reach, i'm onto Halo: CE again.
But then to go to ODST or Halo 2?
I'm playing Halo 3 at the moment .. Gravemind is in it, albeit in voice.
Or do you want to have a pop at the plant-y swine?
Once I see a game that screams *MUST HAVE* at me, i'll buy one or the other.
Thus far, I see nothing on either that sways me in the slightest.
What an incredibly courageous and selfless human being.
My heart goes out to all of his loved ones.
They seem to be pushing wholeheartedly for the casual market, but the games for their existing fanbase don't appear to be forthcoming.
I'll always be there for a Halo game as i'm smitten with that universe, but beyond that .. where are the exclusives?
On a personal note, Lost Odyssey II would go a long way to getting me excited for something that's not Spartan based.
I've taken the week off when it's released! ^-^
Could they have tried any harder to flick between casual and hardcore? Over and over and over?
Furthermore, despite Kevin's bombast, the games thus far just don't look like they cut the mustard.
I played it for an evening and haven't gone back to it.
Whilst the environments are really beautiful, the character models feel off and unconvincing.
The story looks interesting and i'll undoubtedly get back to it at some point - I also wonder if it's one of those games i'm supposed to like, but just..don't.
I remember dating a lass who was flat out exceptional at Halo.
There was one point where she was over at mine ... We were playing the game split screen on XboxLive and one of the other players said "That *other* [my name] is *REALLY* good!"
O_o
XD
I adored Bioshock 1 & 2.
I need this.
:O
Not just when you first saw it .. but more so the point where one jumped through the mirrored glass in one of the interview rooms a little bit further down the line.
"WOOOOOooOoo look, there's my own reflecAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAH!"
I went in expecting just "more of the same" and had a ton of people telling me how bad it was, but I absolutely adored it.
Glad it dared to be something different story wise. Lamb was a much less obvious bad guy, but no less ruthless. There was a seeming lack of heart compared to the original as the game went on, peppered really by the anchors of Eleanor's stunning tapes. But the end all the emotion kicked in and the final moments with Eleanor were epic. Superb ...
When sending a PS3 in for repair you have to take your hard drive out before hand?
And when the machine comes back it automatically reformats the hd? Really? O_o
My PS3 makes a cracking noise, as if the plastic is overheating somehow and sometimes FMV in games jumps frames. I've been putting off sending it in before my tear's warranty is up.
Any tips before I do?
It's interesting to note Microsoft throwing it's full weight [standing up, not sitting down, obviously ;)] behind Kinect, but I wonder where the exclusives, the big games for it's core audience are.
I'm a huge Halo nerd and am very excited for Reach, but don't see anything on the horizon that screams for the 360 alone beyond that title.
On a personal level, Lost Odyssey II would be a wonderful thing to hear news of in the next few months....
Christ, I love Classic Game Room.
Don't worry Mike, you didn't do my nut in .. it was knowing there was a collectors edition in the US and trying to find out which store had it in the UK - and then why the plasma cutter wasn't in the PS3 version.
Have you played the demo? COR! ^-^
