I saw an article on here with the Gamespot review, where Kevin VanOrd was genuinely enthusiastic about the game. Despite it's flaws with the odd glitch and not being the most original game on the market, he enthused how much fun it was to play.
It looks like something i'd enjoy the heck out of.
I've been playing the US version since importing it last year and have ponied up for the UK release as well.
And absolutely stunning game that twists me inside out with rage, but oh my the sense of fear, atmosphere and the sheer achievement when getting even that little bit further.
The game's been out just over a week here in Blighty, with many of the big stores sold out online and at retail for the game, which is astonishing. Wonderfully so!
I'm in a place where i'm level grinding on 4-1 & 4-2 a fair bit, building up strength to get a bit further into it, whilst taking sneaky further wanderings into 3-1 and 2-2. 5-2 is just.. terrifying!
A real pleasure to read. Thank you again ^-^
Sounds to me like it lost marks for a lack of originality and the lack of graphical pizzaz ... but moreover *it's tons of fun to play*.
That's the most important thing, right?
Certainly having the cool story and gobsmacking graphics would have been aces, but a game doesn't have to be perfect to be consuming, entertaining and *really enjoyable*
I was really up for this following the previous 'live action' trailer, but that was just more of the same staggering grey-o-bland [with a bit of neon] that perpetuates so many games of late.
Hope it plays well, but that trailer suggests as generic as they come.
It never turned up in Europe, so i'm hoping it's something Sony is going to rectify via PSN.
Likewise, a slice of Parasite Eve wouldn't go amiss, please!
I absolutely adore it - and it also achieved the impossible of impacting into my top 5 games of all time.
To me, a genuine classic, but within the gaming annals, I guess time will tell.
Halo: Reach [Campaign]
Resistance 3.
New IPs from Bungie & Insomniac.
The Last Story.
The Last Guardian.
And hopefully a good few suprises as well!
but think that, much like Mariokart has been a continual seller for the Wii, Modnation could well go on to keep on picking up sales.
I'd imagine especially so coming up to Christmas and would help market the console to a complete family dynamic.
Superb game - i'm really enjoying it.
So what's the problem?
We don't get the full release until Friday over here
That gentleman was a God
As soon as Coconut Dodge was announced for the 360, they gimped the 360 version.
Modnation demo still not up yet. :/
If you want games with swirly soundtracks, cut scenes and difficulty levels set for mongs, then you have a million games that do just that. Don't rip the heart out of Demon's Souls.
The difficulty level isn't 'hard', it's a challenge. Put in, master the controls, the *intelligent* controls, not some hack and slash button mash garbage - and the reward for the sheer sense of achievement is colossal. This spreads to every aspect of the game as you serve t...
...that Nintendo actually chose not not only promote, but really push a more 'hardcore' title and it's aces to hear it's sold so well.
I went to the event in Manchester Museum Of Science & Industry and it was fabulously organised, funny monster hunter bloakes, saucy models, great game to play .. loved it.
Also the ltd edition chest release .. with the two figurines, wii speak, classic controller and the game was brilliantly put together.
Give me a good single player experience, good story, involve me .. that's what i'm looking for from a game.
There's very few online experiences i've enjoyed.
Mariokart Wii with a friend is a giggle and a half.. and as such i'm really looking forward to ModNation Racers.
I'm a huge Halo nut, but really haven't enjoyed the online aspect at all. It just seems too .. closeted.
I'd love to be able to play through extra story relating to the game/lore, or even ...
^-^
.. If Namco Bandai hadn't stepped in, there's a good chance you wouldn't be playing it at all.
I don't understand your stance on 'not supporting the developers'. From Software produced the game in association with Sony, who then decided not to release the game outside of Japan.
Atlas then released it in the US, with a wonderful ltd edition to boot [or as mentioned on Kotaku, the 'stop f*cking importing it' edition ^-^], it was a huge critical success and sold well ab...
And much like Singularity, whilst it hadn't achieved stellar scores, it's something I know i'll pick up and play further down the line.
I wonder if Square Enix will eventually release the Japanese Nier over here?
I'd imagine those who played and enjoyed the game must be curious about it, if nothing else.
