Is it really that much of an issue?
Surely for those with the smaller hard drives, there's at least 4gb spare and, well, do people really play that many games at one time - particularly those with an install?
As I remember from years back with GT4, it was mentioned that Blu-Ray spins slower than DVD, so to grab repeated information would mean having to repeat 'common' pieces of code throughout the Blu, or just whack in within reach on the hard dri...
Jaw dropping.
Day one.
Just waiting to hear which of the console versions performs best and then putting my order in.
*VERY* up for this, for it's single player campaign - and cool to hear there's a good length of game in there as well.
Hoping more reviews come out sooner rather than later. I know i'm not the only person waiting to see if the 360 or PS3 comes out better.
My instinct is to go for the 360, because I prefer the controller for FPS games - b...
Multiplayer, schmultiplayer .. really couldn't give a stuff about that.
I'll rent the game and wait until it's £12 or so in 6 months time. Money saved for Crysis 2.
It's been such a long time since I played the PC incarnation, but remember it engrossing me utterly within it's story and world.
I picked up the PS2 version cheaply a few weeks back - is it any good?
Currently I'm zooming towards Crysis. I've become really smitten with the trailers, love the concept and am purely waiting to see if it's any good and which version to get it for.
Homefront I've gone back and forth over. Love the concept, was put off by the alleged '5 hour single player campaign', but am really *really* tempted by. Such a strong story is a huge sway for me.
With stuff like Alundra [underrated classic!] and Silent Hill not being released, it surrounds those who own the license for such games.
Hence, I can't understand the issue when the games we mentioned didn't come out at all over here at all.
Is the PAL conversation that tough, given that some folks have purely set up a US account, got a US PSN card and been able to play the game with no problems?
Baffling.
One of my favourite Final Fantasy games .. but I can't help but feel blighted that the PSP version isn't a more beautiful version of the fab DS incarnation.
According to the Playstation EU blog, there are issues with games which have never been released in Europe. Xenogears is currently suffering the same fate. :/
Likewise .. I thought the sequel was going to finally see a release.
The original is flat out genius - and the biggest love letter to gaming I can remember.
Brilliant fun to play and very, very funny.
I would expect the Sony fanboys to start bouncing up and down, mentioning 'the power of the PS3' and how Dark Souls was/must be 'gimped' to fit on the 360.
Something like that ;)
I can't honestly say I saw that at all.
A lot of peeps who wished it was on 360, but that which you mention.
All told the discussions pertaining to the first game were really enthusiastic and well measured .. which I think reflected the gamers who were smitten with it. ^-^
I'm trying to make my way through the office sections, alive, without getting nobbled buy guards.
[*pulls hair out*]
Ace game though!
Did you ever play the sequel?
I'm playing through the original at the moment and it's blimmin hard!
With the new iterations - I am bemused as to why it wasn't kept an FPS.
I couldn't give a gnats chuff about multiplayer.
It's *all* about the single player. Weave me storylines, give me moments, make me care.
Not a bunch of numpties running about a building mouthing off at one another within their pewpewpew.
Please tell me that a certain group of people aren't going to hate on this game, purely because it's *also* going to be available on another console.
Perhaps more than five hours worth of gameplay next time then ;)
I absolutely adored it.
Very imaginative story, the setting to which took me utterly by surprise. The way it then underpins what happens in the games is superb.
Might I add, the sequence in the diving bell/submarine is one of the most [deliciously] disturbing things i've ever read.
[and it took away the sour taste of paying money for that dire second animated release.]
But the question remains ... is it fun?
Peter Molyneux's 'ZOMGrewind' .. where Peter promises us a game featuring actual living breathing Jesus Christ, a new planet to house humanity, free drinks for everyone and swords that look like Christmas crackers .. and then 6 months later presents us with a dumber version of his previous game. ;)
