All XBL gold members will get yet ANOTHER FREE ARCADE GAME for this so called hassle. Last year they gave us undertow for the three days of problems. I am all for trading free games for an occasional hiccup.
MS is quick to make up for any problems with live.

HDD to play GOW2? Wrong. Sorry, but you do not need it to play 99% of the 360 games. There are some free maps to download for GOW2, but those are not needed to play online. You would simply not have those extra maps for multiplayer. I have an arcade and I can play 47 of my 360 games no problem.

Strange. I remember when septembers NPD numbers came out:
"they should have sold more with a price cut" "price does not matter, look at the gamecube", "GOW2 will not sell systems since people with 360's will be the only ones that will buy GOW2".
I guess price does matter and sequels do bring new buyers to the table. Its going to be an ugly xmas season in the us for ps3. I do not see how either MS or sony will ever catch the wii. 800k uni...
Wii has won this. Neither the ps3 or the 360 is going to catch up. It takes MS or sony 3 months each to sell what Nintendo does in one month. ANd if the Wii is noting more than a Gamecube then I see no reason for Nintendo to be able to drop the price to 79.99 down the road if they need to. The ps3 will not win this generation. 480p, mini game loving wii is going to take it. The wii winning does not make me enjoy my 360 or 60gb ps3 any less. Good for Nintendo.
Most ps3 games are nothing but 540p-720p upscaled games to 1080p.
There are some native 1080p games but those are one one hand.
I suggest you do some more homework on the 360. Most of the games are native 720p. The 360 does upscale those to 1080p. Not much different than the ps3. Perhaps I can suggest you go to avsforums.com to learn more about this.

There are plenty of consumers out there that can get plenty of use out of the arcade model with out all of those things and 199.00 will do just fine.

Yes I am so jealous that my launch 60gb ps3 that I paid 599.00 US can play Drake and Tomb Raider. My point is that I see so many slam a game that appears on both consoles and largely only have praise for their beloved exclusives. I see this from both camps.

Ps3 was launched in 11/2006. This is current for the ps3. It is also current for the wii since that launched the same time as the ps3. The 360 is the only one that is not current. They cut it off at 11/2007-two years after it was launched.
Ps3 is BEGINNING its third year this month. It has not COMPLETED 3 years.
That is how long I have been on XBL. PSN has been just under two years. The XMAS of last year thing lasted one day for me. Big deal I got a free game out of it. Last night I had problems for 1 hour. Wah wah wah. These have been the only two times I have ever had any problems with XBL, and I use it every day.
SOme of you guys need to do some home work on XBL, MS does allow for dedicated servers from the game companys. Google it. EA does it and there are many more that do as wel...
