What if you cant find a wii? I go to Target and Best buy once a week and can rarely find one. Best buy by my house has never had a Wii in stock.

Look, no one on any forum even thought the wii(formerly called the Revolution) would even stand a chance. We all thought is was going to end up like the game cube. Look what happened. It is the current leader in sales. Ahead of Microsoft despite being launched one year later.
I am not saying it is the best system. I gave away my wii. I want HD gaming and dolby digital. So I gave it my nieces. They love it.

There is a kid that pulls weeds for me in my neighborhood. His parents are barely getting by. They have no money to buy him a console, so they let him do odd jobs for extra money. He has been wanting a next gen console for two years now. 349.00 to 399.00 was way to much for this kid and his family. Now that the price is going down to 199.00 he is getting one- TOMORROW.

Go to the home theater forums and you will see that many have bought the ps3 just for the Blu Ray player. These guys are not gamers. The 360 is doing well considering people are only buying it to play games. The price drop will surely move some product. I am getting my second one tomorrow. And, before anyone calls me a fanboy. I bought a launch 60gb ps3. I did not wait for it to go down to 399.00 to jump on board. And sadly, my ps3 is used mainly for watching blu rays on my 103 inch screen.

In order to get the required video bit rates for a true 1080p picture the file has to be massive. That is why most blu ray movies are 20gb-30gb at the least with the uncompressed or lossless audio codecs. Most of these types of codecs are 10gb by themselves.

I am one of the few that paid 599.00.00 for a launch 60gb PS3. Only to have them clearenced a year later for 399.00 with free movies.
I know of people that are going to buy the arcade model for 200.00. They do not want wireless and do not plan on using Gold Level live services. Silver level is free and you get to download all of the same stuff as the Gold people.

I have both systems. Sure I pay 50.00 a year for LIVE.I have been give FREE FULL TV EPISODE DOWNLOADS, free FULL MOVIE RENTALS, FREE Full ARCADE GAME DOWNLOADS. So have all LIVE members. PLus it is so much more enjoyable than PSN. Until Sony makes it as good as LIVE there is no way I will spend any time more time online with my ps3. When they do then I will use it more.
All games can play on the Core/Arcade model. It comes down to "saves" you can only hold so many saves on a memory card before you would have to delete some saves or choose not to save. Again, ALL GAMES PLAY. If the game needs more DLC to be useful and the card is full..well, you know what to do.
I think heard that the Arcade/Core model will not PLAY CERTAIN ORIGINAL XBOX GAMES. You need the hard drive to play those for the emulation software.
No kidding! I have both next gen consoles and used to have a Wii. I think they are all outstanding. I just happen to prefer the 360 by a huge margin. My 60gb ps3 is used only as a Blu ray player. I think gamer world is too full of people that would rather be "right" than nice.
But I have lost use of my hands mostly since that laptop battery exploded and caught fire on me...
