A win for gamers or game publishers? Publishers don’t want to reduce prices. They just want the stores taking a 30% cut on game sales. If you can side load games on PlayStation, you will PlayStation price increase and turn the console into another gaming PC. No thanks.
rpginformer.com is a terrible website, here’s why.
“clearly the PS3 had its difficulties”
The PS3 was 2 console generations ago. People born when the PS3 was released will be adults by the end of 2024. It’s time to let it go.
“sometimes the imitators don’t stack up to the originals”

I’ve played through Horizon: Call of the Mountain, Synapse, and some of Resident Evil Village. All of them are spectacular experiences that I highly recommend.
Winter is a good time to try PSVR2. I just look outside and I’m ready to strap on a headset and stand uncomfortably for an hour.
This is so dumb. A lot of second place manufacturers spend more on ads and PR than the first place manufacturer.
“Way too late.”
Is what people said when Apple introduced iPhone.
Don’t look at the leaks. Don’t feed the trolls. Don’t encourage clickbait sites like dsogaming.com.
“Not to mention Xbox had more exclusives than Sony this year.”
Xbox had Hifi Rush, Redfall, and Starfield
PlayStation had TChia, Final Fantasy 16, and Spider-Man 2.
Time to finally buy Psychonaughts 2.
This is Microsoft. You’ll never get a number without caveats.
Microsoft’s CEO, CFO, and head of Xbox have hinted that Microsoft will go full 3rd party. But what they really want is gaming subscriptions through Microsoft. When Microsoft makes Game Pass the only way to play games like, Call of Duty, akin to when you had to pay for for cable TV to watch NFL, that’s when the money will flow like water.
This article is well timed with the latest data showing that PS5 is outselling Xbox by 3:1. But that’s Microsoft’s problem. I would say that everything is still good for Xbox owners except Game Pass is still more expense than PS+ and it went up in price in 2023, Xbox still struggles with exclusives, and Xbox Series S owners are running into the inevitable problem of current gem games struggling on last gen specs. The best time to be an Xbox owner was 2007.
This a good example of why you should be hesitant to buy a game at launch.
A Cyclops VR game would be amazing.
Paying for a license is not the same as buying up game publishers. Robber barons didn’t get rich by buying a license to put logos on their trains. They got rich buy buying up all the tracks.
You mean public information? Usually no issue but there are various data privacy protections depending upon the type of data, jurisdiction, and victim of the data breach. There is also an ethical and legal issue of using data, even public data, to harass someone. Remember that one website that was sued for harassing Hulk Hogan? I don’t.
Dead Rising 3, Rise Son or Rome, the Titanfall franchise, and the Tomb Raider franchise were all hurt by Xbox exclusivity.
“launch titles are not expected to be big sellers, they are meant to entice more early adopters”
100% this.
