The Switch 2 has to compete with the Switch.
I don’t like pay-to-win. Tacking on these kinds of microtransactions is extra onerous for a $40 game. It means you are paying $40 to lose.
My ad block works great on N4G. Videogamer.com is still a mess after blocking ads.
I have never seen such a garbage website. Unreadable.
Until Phil says it, I don’t believe. This generation was supposed to have an Xbox appliance similar to the Apple TV or Sony’s failed TV box. I really don’t see how a Microsoft handheld will be attractive to consumers if Microsoft is publishing games for the Switch 2. Consumers will just buy a Switch 2 so they can play Zelda and Halo. Microsoft would have better success with a Steam Deck competitor like an iPad Mini sized Surface tablet with removable controllers.
I get it. Most households have one console and staying faithful to Xbox means losing out on all of Sony’s exclusives. It wouldn’t be so bad except Sony’s exclusives are some of the best games ever made. Now Microsoft is telling you that your reward for your fidelity is watching PS5 owners enjoy all of the games that were supposed to make your Xbox special.
Microsoft could have brought backwards compatibility at launch instead of TV, TV, TV. That would have forced the hand of many Xbox 360 owners to upgrade to Xbox One. Instead they launched a console that couldn’t play old games and gave Xbox 360 owners an off ramp to PlayStation land.
“influencers”
So if Microsoft paid them enough, they would say whatever Microsoft wants.
Ok. Time to start selling Halo on PS5.
When you pay $70 to $100, you don’t want to believe you bought a bad game.
A 5/10 from IGN is like 1/10 in the real world. Takes a mighty disappointing game to get them to break out of 7/10.
Did you say that after E3 2013?
New or upgraded subscriptions.
What incentive does a developer have to improve the Game Pass version. Developers only get paid once for Game Pass.
“Then loads of articles saying it’s amazing 9/10.”
Please don’t lie.
The James Gunn “The Suicide Squad” movie is universally loved. If you haven’t seen it, you are in for a treat.
Sell the Xbox brand to a Chinese supplier like when IBM sold the Thinkpad brand to Lenovo? Not going to happen. The Xbox brand is built into Windows OS and all of Xbox’s exclusives (if there will be exclusives in the future of Xbox) are made by Microsoft Studios. I don’t think Microsoft would exit the gaming hardware business. Consoles like N64 were successful money makers and they didn’t sell as much as a Xbox Series S/X is on track to sell.
Sony also makes 30% of every software purchase on the PlayStation store. So does Microsoft on the Xbox store, except the growing marketshare of PlayStation means more money for Sony and less for Microsoft. Software is agnostic to hardware marketshare.
Is Palworld free?
“It’s not pay to win, more like pay to progress faster.”
Paying to progress faster is paying to win. Imagine you go to work and find out your coworkers were all promoted before you because they bribed your boss.
