Exactly Plughead the main problem with the PC is there are TOO many games. Just looking at October there are at least EIGHT games I want :-
Sacred 2
X3
Saints Row 2
Bully
Deadspace
Farcry 2
Fallout 3
Command And Conquer - Red Alert 3
Now unfortunately I can only afford at most to get three of them. So I will probably just get Farcry2, Fallout 3 and either bully or red alert 3 (it depends on what EA does with the drm). The ...
I really think it is time to bring in a new law that goes like this "Any console developer that makes any statements on a market they know nothng about should have a console ceremoniously shoved where the sun doesn't shine".
Peter there is a reason why your games don't sell on the PC, it's because they are CRAP. He even acknowledged himself what a steaming pile Black and White was so does that mean I can get a refund for what I spent on the first black and white ?
With these latest commens from CliffyB I think it is time Epic re-evaluated just what the hell hey are doing being on the board of the PCGA. They clearly no longer have any interest in PC gaming, which is fine with me their last two games on the PC were awful anyway ie gears 1 and Unreal Tournament 3.
I don't think either of Epic's recent games suffered because of piracy. If Gears had been any good on the PC it would have been a million seller. However just as Epic have shown t...
For the record Gears 2 probably won't come to the PC because it didn't sell very well. It is only CliffyB blaming piracy, if I remember correctly Gears 1 wasn't even as massively pirated as games like Crysis, yet Crysis is approaching nearly 2 million in sales ... hm why didn't Gears 1 match that then ?
It is the same story with Halo. The two halo's that have appeared on the PC both did pretty badly on the PC sales wise. I remember I bought Halo 1 and was totally unimpressed b...
I don't think the issue is GTA 4. I think it is more a N4G thing, most PC gamers have got fed up with the constant squabbling between the PS3 and 360 users which dilutes any meaningful commenting on news reports. I have only been here around 6ish months and starting to wonder why I even bother to come here.
So I don't think we can take it that just because of 2 comments there isn't a keen interest in GTA 4 for the PC on other forums PC gamers are buzzing about it, so it really ...
The video editor sounds pretty cool, looking forward to playing with that. The ability to make notes on the GPS and map are a god send if you are hunting for those pesky pigeons.
However my favourite part has to be this :-
"Improved streaming will be possible with the power of todays processors. If you have seen cars on the road that matched the car you are driving, this has been somewhat fixed. More pedestrians and vehicles will be visible."
...
I would be very surprised if MS put an internet browser on the 360. It certainly isn't in their interests to do so. To MS it makes much more sense to make the xbox 360 games only because that would require you to have a PC with their OS on for internet browsing.
I imagine most PC gamers already tried the free erm "demo" shall we say and probably came to the conclusion the game was a travesty. The gameplay was dull and boring, the bugs unforgivable, the resolution support was atrocious and just generally it was a sorry excuse of a port. I really do not know why they bothered, next time if you aren't going to put the work in then don't bring this kind of crap to the PC because you won't see my money for it.
Whole heartedly agree there, the amiga era gave me some of the best gaming experiences I have ever had. In many ways I miss the Amiga, it was a sad day when I turned my Amiga A1200 off for the last time and turned my Pentium 1 PC for the first time.
Knowing what I know now it was inevitable that the Amiga was never destined to last forever, it would never have kept up with the PC interms of power or user base. It was a wild ride whilst it lasted and I consider myself lucky to h...
This is an interesting idea and should do well if they stick to their promise of being DRM free and ensuring games work with modern hardware. There are a couple of titles on there that interest me and most can be had for the price of a sandwich.
It is pathetic that some developers are still clinging to the DRM though, I mean these games have gone past their used by date so why in gods name still protect them with DRM, it just doesn't make sense.
Sadly it is a game of it's time and we are unlikely to ever see something like this again. It is a shame lucasarts will not revive the concepts fleshed out in x-wing and tie fighter, but I get the feeling the market isn't big enough for these games anymore.
It would have been a bit more use if they had told us what the PC specs were. But I don't think it looks as good as Crysis Warhead on Enthusiast setting.
I don't see why this is hard to believe. It isn't unusual for PC games to sell millions of copies and this game has been released on 3 formats. I believe Crysis sold 1 million in it's first month, this game is bound to do better due to it being more accessible than Crysis. There is a reason why companies keep releasing games on the PC you know, whilst it isn't as profitable as the consoles it is still profitable.
The only worrying part of all this is the DRM, obviously the pro...
Hm how come no one ever does a Console vs PC comparison.
It's a 10 year old game for gods sake what were you expecting hardware transform and lighting in it. The graphics may look outdated but the level design and gameplay still better most of the crap that gets released today.
Well since most console owners were still in nappies when this came out I think you can class it as new content. Duke3D has always been one of my favourite all time fps's I still play it today on my quadcore. The level design and humour is second to none.
It is just such a shame they threw the franchise down the tube by taking nearly 10 years and counting to come up with a sequal.
Now Now this just won't do there are 13 fantastic games there plus the 24 DeadlyFire just listed plus the hundreds of other games coming out in 2009. I mean it's disgusting everyone just soooooooo knows the PC is dead..... NOT.
Did smile at the Duke Nukem 4Ever comment, hm wonder if we will see it this year. I am not getting any younger and I would like to at least see the Intro before I die.
People that go on the net and moan their crappy £200 Eee box can't play Crysis on max settings at 2560 x 1600.
Tell me Dmitry Orlov did you see the £ sign next to those figures ie BRITISH pounds not US dollars. Those are the prices for the consoles in my country the United KINGDOM not the United States.
As it stands the prices are as followed :-
PS2 = £89 (which is the eqivulent of $178)
360 = £129 (which is the eqivulent of $258)
Wii = £199 (which is the eqivulent of $398)
PS3 = £299 (which is the eqivulent of $598)

I can't say I will lose any sleep over Fable 2 not coming to the PC. I was incredibly unimpressed by the first one. Infact I stopped being impressed with Peter's stuff after Black and White, I bought that on the basis of all the hype and after that I vowed never to buy one of his games before I had the opportunity to try them out. It is a policy that has served me well and saved me a lot of money.
If Peter ever produces a game worth playing I am sure the PC community will rewa...
