It is a shame to see Assassins Creed 2 in the top ten. I guess PC gamers have spoken and they have said "I don't mind having a mandatory connection to a server whilst I play a single player game". I miss the old days when PC gamers actually had some cojones.

Well firstly I wouldn't class Epic as a "giant" of the PC world. I think most PC gamers consider Epic's attitude towards the PC these days as disgusting.

I guess this will encourage "indie" development on the PC. However I have learnt that nothing is "free" in this life so I have to wonder what Epic and Valve's intentions are with all this.

Any way we will see what we shall see I can't see Epic ever really getting involved in PC gaming ...

It's the PC Gaming Alliance, the best way to deal with PCGA stuff is to just totally ignore it. The goal of the PCGA is NOT to support and promote PC gaming. The goal of the PCGA IS to figure out a way to screw more money out of the PC. So it is just best to treat this "group" with the contempt and scorn they deserve and just ignore them.

Hm I had a well thought out debunking post ready to go, then I saw this is from hiphopgamer. So I decided to save wear and tear on my keyboard and not bother typing my debunking post.

Do we even need to show how hiphopgamer got it wrong AGAIN ? Do us a favour hiphopgamer don't comment on things you are NOT qualified to comment on.

Erm don't know where you are coming from with this ? Nearly all games support multicores and use them these days. I have a quadcore cpu and regularly monitor what is happening during gaming and you can easily see that games are now using 2 or more cores for processing.

So games are now multicore and there is a reason for that, the reason being single core pc's now only account for 18% :-

Listening to the US gaming press about PC gaming is a bit like listening to the Japanese gaming press about the xbox 360. If you just look at the Xbox 360 situation in Japan you could easily come to the conclusion that the Xbox 360 is "doomed/dying". The same is true concentrating on just the US market for PC's.

The dominant market for the PC is Europe and Asia if you look at those two markets then you would come to the conclusion that the PC is as strong as ever. I ...

I wouldn't hold my breath for Red Dead Redemption to come to the PC. It's prequel "Red Dead Revolver" was never brought to the PC and to be honest the way Rockstar behaves towards the PC these days I can't see them bringing RDR to the PC.

I wouldn't say those are the best screenshots I have seen of GTA 4 with the ENB series mod, you can find better pics here :-

Mass Effect 2 doesn't seem to be affected at all by this outage. I just tried it now on the PC and the game automatically connected to the cerebus network with no problem.

However even if you couldn't connect to the cerebus network it still isn't a major issue you can carry on playing Mass Effect 2 with out being connected to the network.

Hm that's funny last time I checked the steam survey it was showing at least 74% had a Dx10 card....... oh wait it does. At least 48% of the user base are on a FULL Dx10 system with a further 27% using a Dx10 card but just haven't made the switch up to a Dx10 operating system yet.

Yeah it looks like I am in a minority......... NOT. Just because you are out of touch with what is happening in the PC world doesn't mean the rest of us are Silverwolf. If you are a PC gamer then you...

Then you have problems with your PC if it seizes up for "no apparent reason". I run two PC's here 24/7 and have never had a problem with the pc "seizing up for no apparent reason". I guess it's like the old saying "A bad workman blames his tools".

As for you saying consoles are stable ?????? erm did you miss the whole RROD mess ? did you miss the YLOD mess ? How about the firmwares bricking consoles ? . The fact is consoles are not exactly beacon...

Pretty much every PC gamer can say that. If you are a PC gamer then you will ensure that your PC is up to specs. The only people that ever struggle with PC gaming are people that buy £30 graphic cards and scream "oh I have to upgrade every 3 months" well duh Sherlock if you buy a low end card you get a low end short experience.

As for selling games ? erm I am a gamer I love my game collection why in gods name would I want to sell them ? You say console games &qu...

Oddly enough I don't need to upgrade anything to play this game massively better than the consoles. So I guess that makes "PC's win".

Ah call me picky but I prefer a platform that doesn't seize up just because it can't tell when a year is a leap year or not and prevents me playing EVERY game.

Ok why would you expect a PS3 exclusive from a PC orientated developer ? That would be like me expecting Naughty Dog to do a PC exclusive game...... ie it aint gonna happen in a million years.

Secondly Valve owe you nothing, I don't understand why you think Valve owe you something just because you bought a PC.

Thirdly if you have a PC why would you want to play Valve games on the console platform ? Most sensible, rational and intelligent people would say that &qu...

@ champ21 - yep despite GTA 4's technical problems it works absolutely flawless with a mouse and keyboard. I am no quite sure why JC 2 doesn't work as well, it could be the mouse doesn't feel as responsive. I always feel you should be able to do a quick flick of the mouse and be able to spin around.

That along with the driving in this game (it is pretty bad if we are honest) are my two major problems with the demo. I will have another look at the demo a bit later on, only play...

Thought I would give Testdrive Unlimited another go. Just picked it up from Atari's site for £14 and it will be downloaded (legally) within the hour.

I didn't talk about UK pricing. I merely stated that the US price for the game is $50 which I believe is the same price that Left 4 Dead 2 was initially sold at in the US.

I imagine the UK price for Portal 2 will be £29.99 which is the normal price for most full retail games in the UK. My point is if the original Portal had been sold at £29.99 it would have died a death.

Now if you look at Valve's latest efforts such as the L4D series we can clearly see th...
