You do know it's Google translated right?
Under "Innovation" the author has put Blu-Ray, just thought I'd point that out because it made me chuckle a little.
Although I can't see the XB One selling as poorly as the Saturn, I never realised just how similar the two consoles are looking.
Microsoft are like a moth in Las Vegas at the minute and the sooner they stop chasing lights the sooner they get my pre-order.
Not sure if you mean my comment but let me assure you I did read the article. My comment and probably the comments above do not disagree or reflect poorly on the article. In fact it was a very good read and I agree wholeheartedly.
Microsoft's vision of the future is not something people want to just walk into blindly. Since there's plenty of devices offering similar features there's also no need to "get with the times" with so many restrictions. As long as there are options the future is what WE choose it to be.
Yeah and the goblins don't look anything like real goblins, what were Sony thinking?

Didn't MS announce 15 exclusives (8 new IPs) to come in first year and Sony announced 20, I forget how many new IPs?
The PS4 has it's fair share of great exclusive games and features as well as a cheaper price point. Its a little unfair to boil it's success down to just it's used game and DRM policies.
They lost the great format war early this generation and now they have no choice but to take up their old enemies flag... if you want to be dramatic about it :P
I was bored by the video until right at the end, got to see the touch pad in action for the very first time. Looks really smooth and reactive and the 'marking' feature it was used for is a very cool idea.
If I remember correctly (and I do because I just went back through the old blogs) I gave Microsoft a -1 for the Trey and Matt thing. Somebody brought up the point that they were working on the game so they shouldn't count as celebrities and after careful consideration I decided to keep the -1 for reasons explained in the old blog.
It could be argued that mocking the company you're on stage to represent could be classed as an E3 gaffe and warrant a further point deduct...
You know what, I added the "too much" part in this year knowing it sounded wrong in the back of my mind. I'll change that right away, thanks. Think I'll put it back how it was and have the point deducted for ANY sales statistics, science is a cruel mistress :P
As for your other suggestions, I'll take them into consideration; although showing a game, motion controlled or not, is still showing a game.
Thanks for reading and giving feedba...
@Emilio & febreeze - Damn, must be getting predictable in my old age, better make this one interesting... TO THE DEATH!
Thanks for the input regarding launch window time I was thinking no more than 6 months myself so 4 sounds good, I'll update the blog if there's no objections soon.
@dedicated and all - Thanks :) and thanks for reading, guess this is becoming a tradition now, I'll keep doing it until I stop enjoying it.

Alarmingly similar, althought it's basically a skull, probably the most overused imagery in games, movies, comics... everything.

You could make the point that there won't be any difference if we actually had some games to play and compare but we don't. All we have right now is what's on paper and from what I read PS4 should (and I stress the should) have an edge.
The silver bullet is our wallets, just don't buy the console that has the restrictions you oppose.
I'm right there with you, every time an MS lackey said something like "infinite power of the cloud" or "magic of the cloud" I cringed hard.
There's a fine line between marketing your product positively and outright lying and MS have crossed it in the case of the cloud.
Great blog and thank Glob for Digital Foundry and their truth finding wizards and pixies. Can't wait to see their tech analysis of cloud on vs cloud off, should...
