Don't be a pretentious jerk

A lot of these articles popping up; it seems like MS are damned if they do, damned if they don't. Personally I disliked their old policies, I think removing them was a step in the right direction. Xb One went from being DOA to being back to serious competition for PS4 and we all know competition is great for this industry.

"while you may recognize that this trailer is 100% cgi and nothing on ps4 will ever compare"

You sound angry and bitter, relax, nobody expects games to look that good, at least not the first wave. However your statement quoted above is false, the demo is actually running in real time, it says so right at the beginning of the video.

"The following footage is a prototype running in real time on PS4. It is a concept only and is not taken from a ...

Woah easy man, come on there's no law against making fun of PR statements on the internet... yet. What exactly did I say that upset you?

From the article:

"Most importantly to us, Microsoft priced it so that it’s far more affordable than other hosting options – their goal here is to get more awesome games, not to nickel-and-dime developers. So because of this, dedicated servers are much more of a realistic option for developers who don’t want to mak...

I hear the infinite power of the cloud can cure cancer and pull kittens out of burning buildings. Also if the magical properties of the cloud were a part of gaming in 1996 that cheat to make Lara's clothes fall off in Tomb Raider 2 would have worked.

Seriously though this article did clear a few things up. Like that there won't be dedicated servers for ALL Xb One titles, the developers have to buy/rent them from MS.

That was the joke, geez.

What a game changer!

(only people who read the article about people ignoring this feature on Xb One will get this joke)

They kind of have no choice, just like the DRM.

@Kohven I know EXACTLY what I'm talking about (as much as I can gather from released info), all I want to know is how this is a "game changer" but NOBODY including the author can back up that opinion with anything.

I'm well aware that integrating an app is different from just having an app but really I don't understand how this is different from say streaming using the share button on PS4? That's all I really want to know, if I'm so wrong why ca...

Erm... video of gameplay is still video.

IRRC Sony have made some big announcements at Gamescom in the past and, from what I read on Neogaf, they left out some interesting stuff from E3 due to time constraints.

OK can somebody please explain how this is such a revolution because I seem to be misinformed here?

@below If that's true then can somebody PLEASE tell me exactly how Xb One integration of Twitch is SOOOOO much better? Anyone? I'd be VERY happy to be wrong.

No, I never said you could stream FROM your phone nor am I saying you can play games on your phone.

Yes, I WILL be able to stream games to my smartphone on Xb One. If I can capture/stream to twitch from xb one and I can access twitch on my phone then I thought that would be obvious?

Is there some kind of BIG feature I've missed?

Again calling it a game changer when PS4 has almost exactly the same functionality with Ustream (and probably ...

It's an app, an app that I have on my phone and my PC (or any browser), it's really a stretch to call it a "game changer" on Xb One.

@aviator189 So it has a few more bells and whistles, at it's core it's still just a video streaming app.

Well, the games, which are the most important aspect, are the same but, for me personally, the Xb One went from "never" to "eventually".

I always end up having all the platforms at some point but I had almost zero interest in Xb One until the 180 and now I will probably pick it up after launch sometime.

With the consoles releasing so close I promised myself I would only buy one on launch day, MS made the decision of which one very easy for me...

AFAIK there's no confirmation of the finer details of how streaming to Vita will work. It seems safe to assume that when on the same network the signal will not be passed over the internet and back when it could go straight to the Vita.

I agree that Nintendo has a great system in place for dedicated streaming but it has it's limitations such as only being able to stream in the vicinity of the console and to only one particular device.

It's been said before but Microsoft put the cart before the horse with it's tactics regarding Xb One. Not only did they not offer enough incentive to get consumers on board with their new platform they also seemed to deliberately obscure the facts.

All stick and no carrot is what people took away from MS PR and the pre-order numbers reflected that. Now, after the 180, they are looking at damaged consumer trust, which will take time to reverse.

As much as I'm trying I just can't seem to see past COD with Starhawks. Not judging until I can try it myself though, I just see so many potential 'next big thing' multiplayer FPS games on the horizon and it's hard to muster enthusiasm for any particular one.

If I had to, I'd say Destiny has the edge thanks to it's ambitious MMO qualities.

Survivor mode, new game+ and multiplayer?

Then there's single player DLC coming down the line, plenty of replay value in there to be fair.

Multiple choice would have watered down or convoluted the narrative as it always does.

Because the early adopters tend to be core gamers who purchase a lot of games not just at launch but even 5+ years down the line. It would be insanely bad business to tick them off right at the start of the gen.
