Exactly my thinking. Any and all criticism gets tossed away because "fanboy of rival system." I don't know about anyone else, but I've owned a multitude of systems in the past from all different manufacturers, Sega, Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony... It just so happens that for a lot of gamers, the Xbox One is by far the least appealing console of the current 3. It's understandable that a lot of people are tentative about the series X.
Which is exactly why I put the word "creator" in quotes and added *coughs violently* after it, because he has been called the creator of Mega Man many times in the past despite it not being accurate. -_- Pardon my immense subtlety.
Probably that "The mobile gaming landscape is cruel and ruthless and something needs to be done!" when not long ago he would've been thinking "the mobile game market is so massive, we'll make Megabucks!"
Agreed. Not to mention the games likely led to greatly boosted sales of his books, so he was already reaping the rewards of the initial agreement. (I personally had never heard of The Witcher until the games came out) But I think CDPR probably just wanted to shut him up with a new agreement so they didn't have to deal with any more of his nonsense.
Wouldn't be surprising. If you work hard on something only to have your creative vision underminded, finding a way past the censors would be too much to pass up.
The "creator" *coughs violently* of Mega Man sure can't catch a break, can he?
I actually think the campaign for Shadow Fall was pretty good, but I didn't like the MP much at all.
Incoming unpopular opinion!
I thought Thieves in Time was decent, but a bit of a letdown to be honest. Sly 3 ended perfectly, giving a conclusion of sorts for the main 3 characters while still leaving a little room for imagination, and had some of the best moments from the entire series, (The fight with General Tsao, anyone?) then Thieves in Time comes along with its lame villain, destroys Penelope's character, (I legitimately thought she was being brainwashed or someth...
Or maybe PlayStation fans would rather have some variety mixed in as opposed to the same games on repeat? Or we'd rather see talented studios spread their wings and try new ideas?
I loved the Jak series, but I was happy to see them do something new with Uncharted. I loved the Uncharted series, but I was happy to see them do something new with The Last of Us. I suppose it would've been better if we were up to Jak 8, with Jak 9 being announced?
Both are great games but Hollow Knight's fantastic visuals and sense of atmosphere tip it just a little higher on my scale.
I'd give it an 8.5 too but I completely disagree with your "logic." How can you possibly dictate what score other people "should" have given it? Whether someone gives it a 10 or a 5, who are you to say they're wrong?
One per series (Just how I prefer. Also no games that have been or are slated for release on non-PS hardware, so no FF7, Detroit or Death Stranding etc):
1. Metal Gear Solid 3
2. Bloodborne
3. Uncharted 2
4. God of War 2
5. Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus
6. Persona 5
7. Ni No Kuni: The Wrath of The White Witch
8. LittleBigPlanet 2
9. Gregory Horror Show: Soul Collector
10. Ico
11. Ratche...
As much as I love my PSP and Vita, it makes sense for Sony not to follow with another.
That's right, I'm such a Kojima shill I have repeatedly called MGSV mediocre and the most disappointing game I've ever played in my life. But sure, I must worship the ground he walks on and believe he can do no wrong.
Can you not just accept that some people *gasp* liked a game you didn't like?
I finished the game a week ago and now I'm wishing I'd spent more time in its world before reaching the ending. Sure, I have the option to continue on, going for platinum, but it won't be the same. The story was an integral part of the journey, of Sam's struggle, and now that it's over, I feel like my own journey is too.
Sekiro might be my GOTY but Death Stranding comes in second, with RE2 in third.
Agreed. *That* scene was incredible.
Mentioning Mario and Peach honestly took me out of the experience for that moment. Considering the country had been gutted by voidouts and on the fringe of extinction for many years, why would Sam be acquainted with an old video game, much less be the first thing he thinks of when talking to Amelie? Kind of jarring IMO.
Back before its release, if you'd shown me footage of Minecraft and told me "this will become the best selling game of all time" I'd have thought you were crazy. But hey, it happened, and I'm happy for it.
The second I saw this headline my immediate thought was: "I bet there's someone in the comments claiming it's units shipped, not sold." It happens every single time Sony makes these announcements. :)
I don't think it's even possible to have an accurate "worst games" list anymore considering the mountains of shovelware that gets released on Steam and mobile app stores. Those are objectively games that have been released this year, but who could ever keep track of them?
